@grbaker: Thanks for all the feedback.

Haven't looked at the Drakh stats if I recall. Did you change the stats on simple preference or to correct an imbalance. If the latter, I may want to ask to steal your stats.

Just got the Tinashi. Haven't balanced it yet. I have two ideas. If it is small enough, I would like to turn it into an M7. If it's not, I think I may make it an M2 and turn the Sharlin into an M1 (which I believe it originally was). Perhaps with an existing M2 Sharlin, I should indeed make the Tinashi an M1. Not sure if that fits with B5 cannon or not. I believe credit for that model gotes to J.L.

Yea. Balgot has said something about new BODs. I'm hoping to clear up the problems I have with several of his models not having working guns in XSPs. I think the Hammer is my acid-test there.

I'm surprised to hear that the Ranger is grumpy. I'll take a look at it when I get the chance.

I know the changes are rapid (I'm hoping to move from static HTML to generated-from-a-database pages at some point)... but I think the new style is more pretty than the old grey one was.

let me get this straight, you download the ships seperate from a mod and add them to your game via Cycrow's Ship installer.

That would be correct. (see the ship creator thread for more info on this wonderul product). I've got most everything that's been put out except for the XTended mod.

The bulk of them even work ;)

I would like to know how to mod these ships the way all of you do, (Tensin, Balogt, Deadlyda, JL, Markus, etc) Problem Is I do not even know where to begin. What programs to use, where to get them, any tutorials, etc. I know how to use the Text editors, mangers etc, I know how to balance these ships, just not how to make them. Help?

I rebalanced the Drakh based on personal preferrence and general balance.

From memory (at Work atm) it had 125Mj shield, 180 top speed, dual-gun rear turret and guns up front an M6 would be proud of. Also had a high generator, recharge, cargo etc. Funny enough the Pitch and Yaw were quite low for a M3.

Dropped it 2*25Mj, 153 top speed. Dual-rear turret still, but largest gun is a B-PAC. Reduced front lasters to A-Hept max. Reduced cargo, generator, recharge,. Increased the Pitch and Yaw a little, rep to buy and price.

Also changed the text to read as a Split proto-type replacement to the Mamba (but it would go nice with the Mimbari ships, has a similar look).

When you put it side-by-side with a Mamba or Nova its size is a between both of them, so the stats can't be too far over the top.

That's determined by the XSP. Most are assigned to one race and should show in the shipyears if you have Cycrow's sccript (which is installed by the intstaller), some are in more than one race, some are in no races.

One thing you can do is open up the XSP in ChipCreator. That will tell you which, if any, shipyears the ship should be appearing in.

At some point I'm going to go through and make sure they are all "right", but getting the shipyards (and which race is pretty subjective) has been lower on the totem pole than some other tasks... not all of these ships have appropriate prices (how to determine pricing is still the object of some debate).

Either that's coming in version 0.38 of the XFP mod, or I've not yet had the opportunity to rip it from 0.37.

Did you check/adjust things like rep requirement and accelleration? Sounds like a good balance, I'll try put up one like it.

Yep.. up'ed the Rep requirement and slightly increased thwe acceleration. May tinker with it a little more yet, but I'm happy with it.

Took on a Split Raptor with it, was making head way on his shields until he switched from PPCs to Flaks... damn those things are nasty once you are in range.

Checked all shipyards, it says that the ships are installed but aren't on sale at any of the shipyards

Some ships don't have the race options ticked in their XSP. Open them using the SipCreator, tick the race boxes required and save. Then reload using the installer.

Not had a ship go missing for any other reason (yet).

Yes, the no firing on the up/down turrets may be a problem - there are none there to fire

For reasons I cannot fathom, when I set the Barracud Mk2 Vanguard to use the Barracuda Vanguard model, I get the "cockpit in the midddle of the ship" problem.

I loaded a stock Barracuda Vanguard, which uses the same model, and had no trouble.

I switched the Barracuda Mk 2 Vanguard over to using the standard (non-vanguard) model, and it works fine.

WTH !?!

BTW, bunches of updates including a whole bunch more X2 ships courtesy of Northstar.

@grbaker. You'll be happy to knwo I rewrote the Tenashi as an M1. Still think I might at some point reverse the Tenashi and Sharlin (curently M1 and M2), but didn't want to muck with the Sharlin when I've got so many unbalanced ships to fix.

I don't love it as an M1, but I don't want to rewrite the existing Sharlin and I don't want two M2s... perhaps an M7 for the Tinashi?

I know what you mean. They look good together... but when you compare them with other M2's and M1's they are too small. Funny thing is when I compared them to the Omega they look the right size (maybe a little small)

Not really sure what they should be in X3. (too big for a M7?)

Anyway... they worked a treat, all guns a blazing.. only odditiy was the rank required to buy the Sharlin... 100 is a bit low.

Have you had a chance to make an XSP of Balogt's X203? I had a try but couldn't get it to create in ShipCreator (I'm lacking some of your skills there).

Just test drove your BSG (MkI). Docks nicely a Equipedocks etc and all seemed well until I tried firing the top or bottom turrets. Brings up weird cockpit-like graphic but no laser-a-firing. Tried leaving it to attack a bunch of fighters, the other turrets all started firing, but not the top or bottom.

Oh btw... in Deadlys DDRS thread he meantioned that the Ranger is one of his highest Poly count models... explains the drop in performance I had when I was playing with it.
