Hi,
These are my experiences with the new patch (1.31).
Crashes greatly reduced.
Real slow down in sectors with asteroids like Ore Belt remains a problem since patch 1.3
Devs might want to look at scripts for factory resource / sales ships, to check there are not similar problems to those with Universe Traders prior to patch 1.31.
Intel P4 2.6 GHz
512 Mb Ram
Nvidia GEForce 6600
Onboard Sound
80 Gb Hard Disk
DirectX 9.0c

I'm playing 1.3 and I can't get to OMICRON LYRAE.
I try use gate from Nyana's Hideout or Circle Of Labor and is still the same - crush to windows.
So I installed 1.3.1 beta but it Crash to Windows when I'm trying load 1.3 savegame.
Sempron 3000+ 64bit, 1 GB Ram, GF 6600GT 128 RAM, Windows XP HE SP2. All backround programs are off.
Any ideas?

No. Clean X3 with 1.3 installed.
About Savegame I had this problem with 1.2.01, when I transfered 1.2 save games from different computer. But no problems with saves from 1.2.01 to 1.3.
But what about crash to windows when trying to fly in to Omicron L.? I'm after finishing the plot.

Fixed
I had a crash issue whereby at a certain point in the game (Nothing special happening) it would sound loop and crash, loading from my main save the game would ALWAYS crash after about 2 minutes.
The BETA patch has resolved this issue, I have now played for an hour after the original crash point with no problems.
Windows 2K SP4
AMD FX-53, Radeon X800.
Scripts running:
Race Response v1.42

Auto-pillok update :
Played some solid hours today.
Auto-pilot still wants to bounce my own ship off any asteroid in direct line of the target its going towards, especially when that is a ship thats moving. With this in mind, I use it far less.
All other ships, out of system to me, had no apparent problems, UNTIL.....
I went back in sector to add a new station. As the station was added, a ship in the process of docking with the hub, was destroyed.
I beleive the way in which the stations connections are dynamically redone each time you add a station to a complex is a prime reason for destroyed ships. The auto-pilot of the ships near the complex do not appear to have their course recalculated as the shape of the complex changes.
I think its actually necessary to interrupt the ships near a hub (almost freeze them in place), then ensure that the connectors do not rearrange where a ship actually is, then recalculate the courses of all ships in range of the hub, before unfreezing them.
I think that the courses stored for each ship using the hub should also be recalculated, especially if the game stores their course based on nothing changing, because where they are based has changed.
In the meantime, it looks as if before one adds a station to the complex, one must first dock its ships somewhere else out of the way.

Since installing the beta patch the freezing issues have stopped for me, however, I have noticed two problems so far.
Firstly when i try to fly through the south gate in Argon prime with the escort Nvidium convoy mission active my computer restarts as soon as I hit the gate. This happens every time i fly through but only when I have spoken to Ban and had the mission briefing.
Second, the autopilot is messing up a bit, several ships are having a lot of trouble docking to some of my complexes now, it appears that some of the docking ports are inaccessible as any ship trying to dock to them keep circling forever, I watched one ship for about 15 mins and it still hadnt managed to dock. A few mammoth size ships have been unable to navigate their way to the shipyards as well without me guiding them by getting them to move to different positions.
Other than that game performance is way up
Cheers,

I will say more... I don't need Mobile Drilling System to mine asteroids. These can be destroyed by any weapon (bigger pieces split to smaller), but this is true only to this asteroids which are invisible on map so I must collect them manualy.Blinki1984 wrote:
Will you fix the mining bug (Totaly inefficent) ?
But maybe it should be this way? What say you?

Hi - 3 game days in.
At 9:03pm UK time today something tried to take priority of the screen. I had blue border to the game screen with a white x3 in top left. It passed after a couple of moments and the game continued with no freeze. Sector Unholy Descent. - I think that you have cracked it!!! Please give me a little more time - I will continue to play tonight and have tomorrow and Sunday to play in - give it to 6 game days with no freeze and I will call it a good one.
PS - I reset my computer clock to 9pm and watched task manager to see what was going on - nothing changed between 9:02 and 9:04. It has to be a timed task - every x hours do this... I suspect Norton but can not be sure.

Do yourself a favour and before running X3, disable your link to the internet, and then shut down Nortons. Nortons is more of a virus than any virus at times, and by itself reaks havok on the computer at the best of times. The last thing you need playing X3 is Nortons running in the background.KarlHemmings wrote:nothing changed between 9:02 and 9:04. It has to be a timed task - every x hours do this...
