Release date of X2 known

German GameStar magazine has as X2 release date March 03 on its page.
This is what it says:

By clicking on the "X2: Release im März" link on the page, you will add your vote to the X2 link and GameStare will make a bigger feature of X2 when the time comes and if the vote count is high enough. BurnIt says in the german X forum, there are at least 8000 votes required for this. So have a look at this page and click this link, even if you can not read german, it helps the cause of X2 for a bigger and wider publicity

The german word for vote is "vote" or "Abstimmung"
the verb is "abstimmen"

But on Gamestar we vote indirectly:
the mouse-clicks on the link are counted by gamestar.de,and when there is a high number of mouse-clicks,gamestar knows that X2 is a game,in which the users are interested.

Well i think that it is a bit sad that Egosoft would reveal a possible completion date to a mag rather than on their site to their hardened fan base first. I love the X series of games and feel it is a communicative disappointment really. The other danger is that they could reduce commercial viability as Freelancer 2 is released the same month and realistically Microsoft has the hand to wield the club. After all who wants microshite to win a space battle.

But on the positive side at least we have a date

This March 2002 release date is in the X News which should have been out by now. Why it is not published yet at this point of time only the staff of X News knows.

*edit* I forgot, the editors had to wait to include a certain, late inclusion "very nice to look at" item *edit off*

I did some english proof reading over the week end of the X News and send it back to BurnIt (the editor).
In other words EGOSOFT was ready to let all the fan know of the release date, possibly the GameStar magazine release news came out sooner then anticipated.
