Reckon I should revamp the eye candy in some sectors?

Hell yes! (List some suggestions)

Ryuujin,

The samples you provided look absolutely wonderful. I'd definitely be grateful for such a mod.

And regarding the visibility, a mod that simply puts unlimited visibility for all sectors would be good enough for me, and also very much appreciated.

Keep up the good work! :)

*updates the piccies with some new sectors*

@Greywolf: The planets don't hurt framerates too hard (I've had like 30 of them in a single sector as a test and it didn't effect the framerate), Asteroids seem to do far more damage, I'm probably going to remove some of the surplus asteroids (ie the ones with like 2 or 3 ore that don't serve much of a purpose visually or otherwise). You can do that yourself with some Hornet missiles for that matter or a script.

Regardless many of the revamped sectors have less planets than before, and better use made of them. Also don't forget, Egosoft has said 1.3 is going to tweak the shaders which means the planets will hurt even less.

@AndySonOfBob: Yeah, basiclly the fog is a visual effect they spawn in if the database says it should, unfortunatly, there is only 1 opaque backdrop (As seen around Great Reef) although I suppose it is possible to add new ones, even great reef though doesn't look that great.

Circle of Labour *gasp*
You have a very good sense of style and art, more of that please!!!!
Revamp the utterly completely boring sectors, and release this mod, thanks :D

Also! Sectors with suggestive names such as "Black Hole Sun" should show it visually.
Perhaps add a bright sun, then place a tiny planet in front of it just to block out the glare, but still have the small glare of the atmosphere of the planet?
You know, stuff like that to make every sector unique, if you go into a sector named The Hole, it should be a void! If you go into a sector named Shining Currents, it should be blue and have a nicely lit huge oceanic planet!

[Sub-Poll]

In V1.3 they added all those mini asteroids to many of the sectors that people've been having trouble with. By defaul these don't exist in the modifid universe, so shall i merge them into my custom universe, or shall I leave just the original large asteroids?

Personally I havent seen them in 1.3 as yet, so what is the trouble people are having with them?? Off the top of my head I would say 'yes' include them if it makes piloting through asteroid fields harder. :)

I haven't seen the small asteroids either yet, but as far as I understand they are only in selected sectors. And if I also understand it correctly, the small ones can be shot to pieces and contain no minerals, so I guess including them is optional. Seeing as they are simply eye-candy now, maybe a version without them would be welcomed by the people who experience performance loss with them?

I like the mini-asteroids, but I'm not sure of the logic behind putting them, or a station, in the middle of a well-travelled path when there is a suicidal autopilot program on the loose.

Well, now I've experienced the amount of them in 1.3, I would ask that if you put them in, put in about the amount that the LessRoid Mod makes it....I think it reduces them by approx. 90% IMO.
Now I'll just rant cause my box isnt the greatest, but I like the NoFog mod where it takes out the cloud/nebulae from all sectors that have it, and also the Minimal HUD mod where you only see a box around an entity you have directly targeted. Obviously just my personal preference.

Now, where are your thoughts on the Nip&Tuck now we are post 1.3 Ryuujin :?:

the lesser roids are for mobile mining. They look extremely cool in some instances, though people with lower-end systems say they smash their performance but good.

since the purpose of the mod is at least partly visual enhancement, that makes it a tough call.

Where did you find this? Been searching a few pages back here and on the mods list in the sticky now, but can't find it. I'd love to get rid of the fog.

I caught a message by "dgn master" where he mentioned it and asked him exactly the same thing. :)
He diligently replied with:
NoFog MOD thread.

I tryed both versions and ended up using the 200km one as the sectors looked a little empty to me with the original. The thread sounds like it only changes the distance of objects showing up, but it does actually remove the fog/nebulae type cloud.

I like to 'see' a total dark planet like say Coruscant world but the total dark side, or like the old Omicron lyrae from XT where everything was in siluette.

If a sector like in freespace (i think) where you cant see two feet in front of your face would be nice (im the kind of person who can fly by instruments).
