What do you use your TL's for other than carrying factories?

Hi. Well, I use mine for the following:

1. To store loads of fighters.
2. store 3000 EC's so I can make plenty of jumps so I can really do some trading routes.

Hear is how I make the best profits ever.

Go to BHS and the near buy Argon systtems, and with my Dolphin, I pick up all the Cahoona Meatstakes that I cann until both the Dolphin and the Orker are full to the brim! Then, i check out all the Crystal fabs in that area and I sell the Cahoona Meatstakes to them, and buy all their Crystals. They are usually full of Crystals, so always buy at lowest price. I will also sell to the Q tube fab as well if they are running low on cahoona's. If the Q tube fab is full, then I will swipe all them as well. Anyway, then I will gradually work my way back and every crystal fab I can find that is full of Crystals, I buy the lot. If I can sell the Cahoona's, then I will do so. Or, I will weight until I reach the west where there is lack of food.

You can really make great profits with this tactick, because when you have bought all the crystals you can aford and you have sold all the cahoona's, go to a SPP and sell all 3000 of them at max price! and if you have any left over, find another SPP and sell them.

a base when capturing, ill put it near split fire, and work my way around the pirate sectors sending captured ships to dock there, because its (usually) closer than a shipyard. Then i can unload all ssupplies (remotely thank god!!) to the TL.

Use mine as a mobile base. Use it to hold captured pirate & xenon ships then jumping back to the ship yard to either equip or sell...
Also to store missiles & stuff from destroyed ships. Kept all the pirate bases friendly, so far, so I can sell back their pilots as slaves

I use my Orca as a mobile base, realy. Load's of EC for that jump drive too, so I can bounce around the universe, and suprise the pirates attacking one of my factories by dropping 60 ship's on their asses.

Also capture storage, and as it was Elegantly put by cappedup, Billiards, There's no red factories in my universe. Also no Teladi, but that's a different matter.

Mobile base and building my empire as I've got to spend my money on something. Mind you ts getting to the point where I could spend all my time placing new factories.

I wonder if we will be able to automate buying and placing factories via scripts in x2??????

I use mine mainly as a way of getting from A to B...smaller ships don't have enough cargo space for the energy cells needed for longer jumps. But like people have already said I used it to bounce asteroids about, as a collection point for captured ships and as a general dumping ground for anything I find floting around space.

I use some of mine as floating storage yards. I have two as carriers and one as a mobile base

i use myna as a mobile base! And also store all my shields , missiles , lasers , satalites , lasertowers and stuff like that.. how do you do the jump thing or is it just going through a gate..? (i cant drive em through gates) i always hit the side!

MY busines has stuck it ritch on this game! i already have got a solar PP and a Ore Mine a Boron Orca + Im Using A Teladi Bat! Need To Find An Aswum Fighter i just got in one and i kinda like the shooting bit! (altho i dont hit them they do blow up coz i ram them! )

any M3 class fighter is kinda good
i like the paranid prometheus for speed and accuracy though it lack the cargo space
also good ones are the teladi falcon and argon elite
and the mamba comes last though its an awesome fighting machine if AI controlled - it has the lasers mounted so far from the center that half of the shots are missint when you trying to shoot < so its good for wingmen



now about that TL using - i use it as mobile base and for all reasons mentioned above and for just one more thing you can do with it - the piracy
the police won't check the cargo bays of transport ships that are landed on TL
so i stuff them with weed and whiskey and i make fun trading
though it does not give as big profits as weapon trading or crystal trading

In my books thats a ship with most gun types most goods and most extensions

Jump drives are sold at the Goner temple, just how they got the exclusive rights to sell them is beyond me.

If you read the story - or the documentation I forgot where I read it from - the Goner Temple retain exclusive rights to sell the jump drive because they are the only ones in the X-Universe who have the jump-drive technology in order to build it.

They are also the only neutral group in the sectors. All the others'd use it to their own advantage and take over all the other sectors. This way it's freely available to all races. Even the split (unfortunately )

My TL I use for movement through space, quite often using my jump drive, not always though. It houses my 'fleet' (it's really not that much, 3 mamba's, perseus, Xshuttle, piranha, discoverer, a wing of maxed out Xenon N's) of defence ships and captured hostiles are stored there for transportation to a shipyard.
And of course the occasional factory I buy goes in the cargo bay.

Those Xenon M5's can be fun when my TL is accidentally hit by an M2... they come flying out and start attacking the M2. I don't recall one being destroyed, they're just too quick. No more than visual fun though, seriously 5*2*GIRE against 625MW shield ?
