Much as I'd like to think we're just popular I think that might have hit the nail on the head!ensui wrote:Are you sure the increased number of visitors wasn't because of people complaining or trying to solve their problems with the game?![]()
Well, you'll know if you released a good patch when the visit density drops--as people play the game--then returns after a few days or (hopefully for the company) weeks.

according to big-boards.com statistics our forums are currently ranked 3rd amongst the world's most visited phpbb forums submitting their stats to big-boards.com.
Can I just point out that this may well be because so many people are visiting the site to get technical help for the game, seeing as the bloody thing in broken. 36700 posts are on the X2 tech forum which has been running for quite some time. However there over 10000 posts in the X3 tech forum already and the game has only been on the shelves a few weeks. Do not interperit lots of visits to the forums as good press unless you are sure your product is sound. If you do the math, in 2 years time you will have had 240,000 visits to the tech forum, woohoo, a world record maybe? Not good....Not good at all. Fix the game, then boast how great you are please.
Thanks.

I come here day by day to check to see if you have fixed the game that I spent 8 weeks saving up for - £35 is a lot of money out of my incapacity benefit. I can only afford to buy 4 or 5 games a year, and I expect them to work out of the box.
Having such high visitor numbers is nothing to be proud of in this instance - it's frustrated gamers wanting fixes for their game.
Maybe next week you'll have a press release detailing how X3 allows gamers to make cups of tea between sectors cos the wait is that long...
