My first novel: Cooperation

Okay, I have now made my first novel, that describes the events a few years before the terraformer war, when the xenon have not turned buggy&evil yet, Enjoy!

Cooperation



Chapter 1


Adrienne was praying for her life when another BIRE bullet hit her ship’s hull.

This was impossible!

She had been attacked by pirates and briefed to leave her ship to them but she had declined, since her ship was equiped with Impulse Ray Emitors (IRE) and the best shields available, and she was a pretty good pilot.

But those pirate ships were not equiped with standard IREs. They were using a far more destructive version of the IRE. What did they say, BETA IRE?
Those shots had eaten up her shield in no time and were seriously damaging her hull.

She was tempted to use the selfdestruction device of her ship that was equiped with an M/AM reactor, so the explosion would destroy everything within a 50 Km range, including the pirates, but she was afraid to die, and instead, she was praying for a miracle even if she knew that it would never happen.

She saw that her hull was down to estimated 70% after 1 minute only!

She programmed her ship computer to engage the selfdestructing process as soon as the hull estimation dropped below 20%, which left a bit of time in case someone had received her SOS, even though she had lost hope by now.

Suddenly, Adrienne saw a missile tray in the distance, again, something different from the standard missiles she was used to, but something new.


She scanned it.

It said: Dragonfly missile and the yield was enough to blow up a shuttle.

It was headed for her attacker.

Her pulse accelerated, that could only mean one thing.

A patrol from the terraformer fleet had registered her SOS and come to help her.

She used her zoom googles to watch the ship that fired the missile. It had that symbol, a few lines in an almost child-like pattern.

The symbol of hope, the symbol of the terraformer fleet!

The terraformer fleet was a fleet of ships piloted by high-end AI pilots, and those robots were able to think as well as a human, capable of reproducing, and capable of creating and building their own ship designs.

They had been built to colonise and terraform planets across the galaxy so mankind could then live and thrive there.

Currently they had been set free and belonged to human no more, but yet they kept friendly contact with the humans that they had always loved this much, and they kept trading resources and high tech gear with earth. Whenever humanity was in danger, they were there to do something about it.

The terraformer’s missile destroyed her attacker, she was in safety!

However, a last IRE bullet hit her ship damaging the hull and making the hull estimation drop to 19% and the M/AM drive exploded, destroying her ship along with her robotic saviour.
