I finally killed my ebgames order after I just couldn't take watching the status flip back and forth between "active" and "still time to cancel" four times. This thread illustrates pretty clearly why small companies need to start thinking about direct to drive downloads for their games. Not as the only option, but certainly as a major one. Lots of folks have broadband these days and as much as they may complain about download times, I'm sure that's nothing compaired to the travel time and annoyance of going to stores and getting the run around.

Today is the 9th and here in Chicago there is still isn't a copy on the shelves in the five stores within a few miles of me that carry games. They've never even heard if it (which is nothing new to be honest). So I'm giving up. Maybe someday if I see it on a shelf and the game I went to buy isn't in I'll pick up a copy, but I'm done making more effort to buy the game than the distributors are making to get it to me.

It's not a myth.... I just got my copy from Best Buy also. I saw the posts and didn't believe it, but my gut told me to check anyways.... Then BAMM.... It was there. Just rolled out in a cart from the back room.

downloading the pacht right now. Though it came as the euopean version. Does it matter since i live in the U.S.? GOt my copy from gogamer with a free tee.

Thanks for the tip , cancelled amazon.com order delivery date of nov 18 and got gogamer.com for delivery in 2 days . I am sooooo happy now. Bestbuy by me said they didn't have it.

I'm stopping by Best Buy after work (Corpus Christi, TX). I just called them and they said they would hold me a copy (they just got it in). Finally someone is selling it. What a terrible release. I hope it will play smoothly. I love X Games.

Still nothing at the Best Buy's here in Michigan.

One store told me he couldn't even find it in the system and I should check thier web site. One store told me the 11'th date again. One store said they should have it but never got it.

Called up Gamestop. No go yet. Called Best Buy. They had it. Told them to hide one for me, on my way. Got it, cancelled my order at Gamestop. Best Buy in Jacksonville, N.C. has 4 copies left.

Bloody Amazon kept pushing my order placed on Oct. 8 back, finally until at least the middle of next week. Have now cancelled it and ordered from GoGamer.

It's a shame that I didn't order the DVD copy before GoGamer ran out, because I loathe the idea of giving my money to Enlight, who must be significant screw-ups. They can't even spell "North America" on the front page of their website.

Well, called up my local gamestop again today, and it still hadn't turned up in todays shipment. They then checked the computer, and it was showing the 15th!

So I popped down to my local bestbuy, and bought a copy. They had 8 left (Airport Way, Portland, OR).

Up here in canada there is no hope, Gogamer doesnt ship to us in canada, racists!

Stuck with EBgames or Amazon either way not untill 15th of NOV they all say.

I did cancel my pre-order but I love this series and think egosoft produces some fine games with obvious attention to what the consumer wants not how many ways can we screw the customer out of money like other companies.

I will wait and buy it whenever i can and thank all @ egosoft for thier good work, Enlight however can burn in the pot of satanic sucreations from which it came!

I live in Toronto, Ontario (Canada). Can ANYONE tell me where I can find X3? I've called EB (who said it's been pushed back now to the 15th!!!) and I've called Best Buy (who can't say when it's coming in). I just wanna get this game!

I completely agree with anyone and everyone who's said that smaller publishers should definately look into the downloadable purchase option. I would have gone for that as SOON as I found out that the initial shipment to North America was delayed to Nov 5th...then the 11th...now the 15th...

But the main point...ANYWHERE in my area that anyone knows about? Gogamer won't ship here

C'mon, how will they implement their belowed copy protection then?
Anyway, good news. I'll go and try to fetch myself a hard copy tomorrow at best buy. The game rocks (although is a bit slow).
