If you have screenshots but nowhere to store them, PM me and I'll provide you with an email address you can send them to. I'll then stick them up on my webspace and put a link to it on the first post.
Bump*
Had to scroll a bit to find you ,this is saving me so much thread opening.
It's a shame as it could be better developed (I also hate the stories that are split into 2 paragraphs that you have to scroll down and back up to the top to read - grrrr) - it certainly would add a lot more depth even if they were just random fun small missions.
Haven't got my copy through yet (grrr, Mail service), but I was kinda hoping that they'd have fixed this for X3, evidently not. It isn't a major greivance but its really annoying travelling from station to station just to find a single decent mission, so I have to agree.
So this seems to be quite an annoyance for a LOT of people!
I'm amazed that I've never heard anything from the developers e.g. Greg Kingston/ Bernd) about fixing this or even that is an issue that needed to be addressed in any patches or from X2 to X3...I mean, how long would it take to fix?
Surely it can be added in quickly in the next 1.3. Patch?
I agree, flying around and docking at any station I can find for an hour (like I did this morning) and finding 3 missions (none of which I was trusted with - because taking a passenger to a station 2 jumps away with an hour and a half time limit requires the utmost skill) is not particularly enjoyable.
I would like to see a Freelancer style selection of missions (i.e. spoilt for choice).
(please?)
Edit: just thought of a potential solution: why not allow a general system broadcast in which you can request all mission-only BBS messages, giving you a handy list of all missions in the system. The system could even allow for remote acceptance of the missions (i.e. without having to dock at a station and go to the BBS and accept it, you could just comm your acceptance); docking only if it is required, such as a passenger/cargo pick-up.
Glad to see my post was merged with the Patch 1.3. thread - hopefully the developers will implement the suggestions!
I PMed The_Abyss and CBJ re the Bulletin Board problems and suggestions - hopefully we will get some insight into why it was never fixed in the first place!!!
1. The framerate improves significantly when the hud is switched off on some computers. Can this be improvement be implemented with the hud on in the next patch?
2. The docking arm snatches your ship on manual docking as opposed to a smooth transition using auto pilot. Can you make the last part of docking smoother?
Suggest that this is made sticky as the developers could do with having the reports to hand.
Just visted earth - lived a whole 5 seconds! Welcome Home - Yeah right!
Thanks to Jinks and Grehawk1 for supplying screenshots! I've added links to them in the first post. I also added a couple more issues I spotted with the pirate base.
Ok I didn't really take much notice of it before but basically all the bigger ships and transporters are horribly slow, I hope im not the only one who finds it incredibly boring to slowly fly through space especially now as a lot of sectors are far bigger, imo nothing should be slower then 100m/s except for when a ship is damaged but even then keep it to a minimum of 50m/s.
If they aren't increased in speed for the next patch could someone tell me how to mod them please?
When we finally start to get our m6's m2's and m1's we will all be pissed at this im sure!
Too many star streaks when moving.
The clouds are annoying. Faint stars shine trough them without a problem but monster-sized stations only pop up 5km in front of you??? Riiiiight.... Besides, it kills my FPS. I liked X2's clouds better, like where they werent all over the place.
Hello Neonin!
Could you add my previous comment about BBS messages to the post? I'd really like them to fix that
Unnecessary empty line between each line of BBS message. It has 2 columns whereas I feel 1 would be better.

Could you grab a screenshot of what you mean? I've seen BBS entries in one, two, and even three-column format. Is it a problem with the two-column one? Or just you'd prefer all BBS entries to be one column only?

User Interface
- Text in the load game screen is too big in 1024x768 resolution, and such entries as "Cloudbase South West" don't fit in the provided box and drop down to the next line, on top of the save game below.
Agreed: This is very tacky and clumsy. A classier way to deal with this problem would be to have long text strings smoothly scroll horizontally within the rectangular window.
The best interface design for games of this kind I've seen to date has been Independance War 2: Edge of Chaos.
