gave up tring the plot at mission 2 as the useless keyboard comands dont react as fast as the action .a good patch would allow all important actions to be reached with one cliclk, tried setting up new profile and still not good enough.
colours of huds need to be modified to allow colour blind persons to use.

still agood base for a game mabie by 1.4 we will have an exerlent game

Like someone posted before early on: we want widescreen in proper aspect.

Would also be nice if I could get a quickbutton for claiming a ship, instead of having to go through the menu.

Nebulae could be better indeed. Take out the background stars&planets and you'll go a long way I think. I realise that those nebulae are great for my FPS, but I don't like them anyway. And there are way too many of them.

I'd also like to see percentages in numbers on those hull and shield bars when I press 'Y' for example.

Two more problems I've just encountered....

Graphical issues:

Flying a Demeter: You can see the background stars through the hull of the ship (as you see it infront of you).

Sorry forgotten the headlings you were using, but:

If you use autopilot to follow a ship, then turn it off.. you go straight to the speed you were flying before autopilot was engaged, which for me was max! I went smack into the back of the ship I was following.

I may also be mistaken but does anyone else think there are less BB missions than in X2??

also.. shouldn't the planet in Kindgom End look a little more watery!

Cheers

Not sure if this is just happening for me but when I type some text I find it sometimes misses letters when I type at normal speed.

I think imo that transporters of all types are too slow, I understand their meant to be big heavy things but this is space and engines would continue to add speed in reality, but I know its a game so I hope they are at least increase by about 20+%.

Also I've been hearing a strange buzz sound when using menus, not sure if its my pc or not though, anyone else get it?

.

1. Writing sometimes misses letters and needs fixing.

2. Maybe increase all transport ships speed by at least 20+%.

3. There's a buzz sound when using menus sometimes which needs fixing.

.

Only add them if they are found to be valid, thanks!

Great Post Neonin!!

I hope X3 developers take notice of this comprehensive list. I'd like to add whats bothering me aside from the things mentioned. The BBS really sucks now... I don't know who thought of it, but it makes no sense at all:

abcd abcd abcd abcd 1234 1234 1234 1234

abcd abcd abcd abcd 1234 1234 1234 1234

abcd bacd abcd bcad 1234 1234 1234 1234

What a collosal waste of space!!! Please go back to the old readable

abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd abcd 1234 1234 1234 etc...

with proper spacing instead of leaving every odd line blank :-( bugs the hell out of me....
Also, where is SETA when docked to factories? Sometimes when in menus I cant speed up my ship. Or when docked the buttons below are a great thing, but double popups appear overlapping each other blocking the button so you dont know what it says
Also, what is it with the huge icons on the gravidar (and especially the sector list)? I'm not blind you know....

X3 is a great game and has a lot of potential but only if it keeps getting the attention X2 got with constant patches, of which still a lot is needed.

If its not already mentioned

an added picture for requesting docking through the comm and the missing "slipstream" when you go through a sector gate. my screen is blank

Also a bump on the 16:10 Widescreen support

I've updated the main post again guys, good work in finding these little issues that detract from the game!

One thing I'd like to mention, I'm sure somewhere on here someone stated that factories in X3 don't own any ships and rely on traders/local military for everything. If this is the case, why is it that in a stations information screen there is an option for "Owned Ships" still?

- The keyboard stops responding to key presses while any other key is being held down. This is frustrating when, for example, strafing as you cannot switch or fire missiles using the keyboard while you're holding down a strafe key.
Not all keyboards are created equal... Some can handle more characters being pressed down at once than others.

Hehe, perhaps, but I've yet to hear of a keyboard that failed in this regard. It's usually down to the software not recognizing extra key presses.

Besides, I know for a fact it isn't my keyboard. Similar things work fine in the likes of Doom 3, UT2004, Freespace 2, etc.

just an idea but i was just resting from a bit of killing in a trading station and then comes a message summing like this

"warning to all piolets pirates have been spotted in this sector"

so i instantly un-docked and searched the whole sector and no pirates to be seen  cant station announcments reflect what is actually hapaning in the sector??

Lower the detail on planets. They kill my fps.

More graphics options so you can try boost fps by turning off all the fancy fps killing details.

Combat AI still isnt great. The AI can still continuously fight even when both parties are unable to actually damage each other plus its the same old continual head on passes from X whatever...

There is an option in the stats screen to show secret containers found but there are no interior bays to find them in? Anyone got more info?

Some (a few) still own ships.

A request for X3 patch 1.3

Post by Chazzie »

Hiya,

Just a quick request for the next patch -

When targeting a jump gate and then using seta to pass through could you please disable the target lock on the gate when you are on the other side! The autopilot swings you back towards the gate! X2 had this and while its nothing major I find it quite annoying.

1. The snyc between people talking and the monitor screen is out - it flicks between people and changes it's quite distracting.

2. one / maybe two warnings about planet atmosphere - then blow the ship up. The graphics on the planets start to corrupt if you get to close this will solve that problem.

3. Turret positions seem to allow you to fire through your own hull.

4. Option to view the movies in a higher res?

5.
Spoiler

The city chase is terrible - all of the building look like cardbord props which are held up - can you make them blocks?

i'd plug for less shading and shinyness
the ability to turn off these and particle effects.

i'm not bothered if i can see the reflection of my ship in another, i just want a smooth game,

i didnt like x2 for the graphics, it was the gameplay and the emersion that got me hooked,
it would be the same with x3. the universe is so much bigger and there are many different things to get on with,
i just think they have made it too shiney and polished for many peoples computers to take

simple is the key here,

definatley get rid of everything being bracketed in a sector, how annoying is that,
fair enough, bracket the enemy ships, but not everything,
while in combat it is so annoying

I've found another bug. My Dad has the Audigy 2 Lite Soundcard... When the characters speak (don't know about ship computer) it somehow misses off the first word of each sentence, and ruins the game... He's now not playing the stroyline until this is fixed.

He's tried the FAQ and tech Support, still not getting anywhere. I've also made an observation in the Tech Support forum that many people with the Audigy 2 Cards are having problems. Some manage to cure it... others do not.

I want to see the ability aswell for the HUD to be changed... as in screenshots I've seen different aims... but have not found any options in X3.

I have a graphical bug on the menu system (GeforceFX 5900XT). Half a box of text is constantly appearing over the centre (selected) button on the contextual menu at bottom of screen, making it difficult to view things.

I would also like to be able to use the hotkeys for screens while in a station, i.e. be able to press the '.' key to get sector map up, rather than having to navigate that weak conextual menu to the 'Navigation' bit etc. (menu system 'upgrade' is awful in general, can't believe ppl think it's improved, looks like they spent about a day on it and said 'That'll do.')

I want to see some kind of grouping system for multiple ships, so that when I get to 20 fighters flying off my TL, I can give them group-orientated tasking (i.e. group 'a' attack this station, while group 'b' attacks air defence). This has always been a big problem since XT.

It's been said, but I'll say it again to reiterate: Need an option for decluttering the HUD, way, waaaaay to many blue boxes piled up.

The 'nearest enemy' key is the 'rotate ship right' key lol. Need to be able to switch to nearest enemy target better than it is now.

EDIT: sry keep thinking of things so keep editing :D. Let us have the sector maps from Argon and Boron space at least already known when we start. I spent twenty minutes in 'The Hole' trying to find the East Gate. It's ridiculous, I nearly quit I was getting so annoyed. As if you aren't gonna know where the gates are in your home systems lol. I can find out at a touch of a button where a minor residential street in Bolton is, why not main routes in X3?

EDIT AGAIN: Another one I just found. Doesn't tell you what rank you need to be to do missions in Bulletin board. Should be go at the top so that it saves me a lot of time as I can just discount immediately what I can't do.

This is a good thread m8, well done, very constructive. Don't let it die! Keep flinging at at 'em till we get what we want :) .
