hello guys. well, i have two movies for your enjoying pleasure, please do tell me what you think of them because they represent lots and lots of hard work. please read the descriptions, and below them are the links. enjoy
Homeworld 2 Cinematic Movie-- Made during March of this year. I made it for a HW2 mod that i was helping with called Canopus Protocol. i used gamecam to make it.
Freelancer Cinematic Movie-- Made during July of this year. I made this kind of out of my own enjoyment. I knew that i wanted to make another space rpg cinematic movie, but it wasnt until i heard Hans Zimmer's Leave No Man Behind (the soundtrack for this movie) that i decided to use Microsoft's Freelancer for this movie. unlikt the hw2 movie, this one is more artistic and emotional. basically what happens is the main character's homeword gets destroyed. but the colored scenes are in the present, and the black & white scenes are in the character's memory.
actually, the freelancer engine is very hard to mod/record. i had to do my own research to remove the hud and all the other windows and stuff. it took about 2 weeks to figure out how to do it, and while the movie was good, it wasnt exactly what i had envisioed. i do intend on remaking this movie with the x3 engine once it comes out. by the look of the trailers so far, it seems that there will be easy panning/flyby camera views which will make my job much easier. plus, those huge lasers raking the surface of the planet will be breathtaking
and as for the soundtrack, the instant i heard it for the first time, i knew i had to use it. its near-tear jerking. i made the whole movie revolve around it.
Both are great. I like the atmosphere in the Freelancer one - probably more atmosphere than the actual game
thank you very much.
yah, i wanted the movie to have some sort of emotional substance to it... since that was the main point, i guess i accomplished it. the battle scenes leave something to be desired, but the "memory" scenes turned out pretty good.
Great work, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you will come up with for X3.
damn im excited to start making movies too. looking at today's screenshot, the planetary landscapes look absolutely out of this world...literally...
It looks atmospheric just from the screenshots, the actual game should blow us all away
"There must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the universe can be said to be zero, From this it follows that the population of the universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the product of a deranged imagination" - Douglas Adams
