One happy family

Post by The_Abyss »

Have we all vented off steam and resolved various differences now?

Excellent.

Popcorn and beer have been a common suggestion to watch the posts fly up in anger. But, ladies and gentlemen, what are your favourites. Did you enjoy a Carling whilst Mr Bolton posted? Do you wait for my next post in anticipation with a Carlsberg? (probably not).

For me, it's Bud (bottled) all the way and salted popcorn please - none of this toffee rubbish.

For me it's usually a mounting sense of dread. :-)

A worrying trend methinks and a health hazard !!!

Eating and drinking alchohol whilst reading flame threads will likeky lead to many unhealthy fat alchoholic pilots inhabiting the X universe. Please try to abstain from the booze and only eat when your PC is switched off, alternativly you could limit your visits to flame free days, and err possibly never be seen here again

Well, since I've stopped drinking alcohol completely, I guess this doesn't pertain to me. But, I will smoke a big fatty occasionally while reading some of the crap that's posted here. ;)
The new PC I just built for myself:
i5-13600k, 32GB DDR5 RAM, RTX 3060 12GB
It'll do until I can upgrade the graphics card.

yo, bring it down for lyrical master ...
bust a rhyme and sprinkle some thyme, it's time to spice it up, *scratch*
forgotten in this time of dread, robroy has spoken for all but the dead
what can a brother say in this land of hasty parley
it's a tack for a tick and none's wiser than Old Nick
but if you must, don't bust
just ignore my satanic reference and keep the peace through indifference
yeah... not a ban for one, and not a cloud over the sun
so just drink up those beers and follow your peers

... yo. ;)

it's like a kid who just discovered playdough
once it's off you can't disengage
mark my words, as i go on and on in a rage
you got little animals to make
and cute looking metaphorical little pies to bake
colours, letters, shapes and amorphous blobs
come pouring like snot in between spontaneous sobs
someone make it go away and down the drain
before i stick a pitchfork in my brain
nonsensical musings and alphabetical bacteria
keep jumping in ignoring my criteria
stop stop! no more must this be pursued!

... alas... i'm really screwed... :(

Are you sure thats the right attitude?
Morbid dread's like being crude.

You Spend to much time thinking it,
then your whole life's a bunch of.......

I better not type that word....
I'll get myself banned if it's heard...

Or maybe that should be read.
Either way I'm dead.

Oh nuts I'm being morbid now
Rhyming Couplets Suck.

oh there you go, you got me started
once i thought i was clean and with this habbit parted
forever shall this thread be cursed to suffer
from the output of my keyboard buffer
ah, dear friend - we're really done for
unless i run away and join the peace corps
fighting maleria with my rhyming hysteria
and visiting every disaster area
a life of solitude it thus must be
as sure as the fact that americans say "zee"
so end it quickly and put it down
don't let me go on and on like a clown
observe, how it comes like a burst
never a way to quench this thirst
like that wet towel in the locker room
(wouldn't know anything about it, i presume)
ooh... now i know what to blame...

... it's that sneaky computer game!

Hang on that doesnt rhyme... you cant post something that doesnt rhyme and try and pass it off as a poem.. jeez...

On this board i'm the only poet,

And you know it.

Since when does it have to ryhme to be poetry?

Never heard of a Haiku? (even if it was a terrible Haiku)

Sheesh, you guy's are too much sometimes,
Not all good poems have to be Rhymes.

Sorry, should have used more sarcastic type smilies. i was kinda joking. Never was one for subtlety. I liked it apart from the cherry blossom, i guessed it was set in space and couldnt picture cherry blossom.. :?:

oh drat, not another haiku prat
this isn't poetry, you sneaky rat
nothing to do with gardens and ponds
and those slimy frogs that turn into blondes
which brings to mind a fair joke
about this retort that came from a bloke:

minding my own business i was,
trying to commit suicide for a just cause
when this little voice i heard
which at the time was quite absurd
as i was all alone on that pier
to my morbid task determined to adhere
"don't jump! don't jump! you're my only chance"
i quickly glanced around in vigilance
and saw this little frog
sitting on a log
"whatever are you troubles, i will make them go
like a breeze away they will forever blow
but for this from you i must ask something not too complex
with me, i would like you to have sex"
"what? and all will be alright?
my wife faithful and my kids bright?
will you make my cheques stop bouncing
and my creditors my death to stop announcing?"
"yes! yes! all you have to do
is give me a quick screw"
and so i went for it disgusted,
but lo and behold the frog's form adjusted
and into this fair teenage maiden it transformed
and that's the truth your honour - not that i raped her, like her lying bitch of a mother keeps on saying...

... ah! i'm cured! thank thee! thank thee muchly!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The choice was clear,

The frog, or the pier,

The frog i chose

Cause the pier was closed 8)
