Hi,
this new patch is great, unfortunately there is some problems, when texts isnt displayed properly. I have czech version and for example distance to target is displeyed as number and "ID text not found", also some BBS texts is only "Read text ID" and number.
Please can anybody help me. Should I download this patch again?
Thanks
Jan Zapletal
P.S.: Sory about my english.

I like the new HQ but couldn't they somehow change the production times?
by using credits to speed it up or something. I don't want to script in the new M7 but my first one took 40 hours of game time to create? If I want 10 it'll take 200 hours?

Like everything else in the game, the HQ is balanced, so you gain a little (cheaper to build than to buy, you can build things you can't buy elsewhere) and you lose a little (you need lots of resources, it takes time). If you just want want things handed to you on a plate then you'll need to script.Julius_Sneezer wrote:I don't want to script in the new M7 but my first one took 40 hours of game time to create? Good points, i too wonder why we can't have simpel upgrades like engine tuning. Those will make your ow HQ even better then it is now. maybe even give you opportunity to deal with pirats and sell then new types of ships and sort of thing would have been great.fstrthnu wrote:CBJ,
Please read my post on page 14. I am not a balance freak but their is one thing that is just not balanced at all. Give it a good read and let me know what you think.

CBJ,
What I was really getting at is the fact that at any Race SY you can repair your ship as fast as you can move the quantity bar and select it(3-5 secs) but to repair your own ship it takes a substantial amount of time. I am really wondering what the player incentive for repairing their own ships is, especially for those who like to wage large wars. Again it great for realism, but doesn't work to well for those with large fleets. Also I made mention of being able to sell ships to the races, and sell ship upgrades. Depending where the player chooses to put their HQ, perhaps next to a war zone, the player could make additional credits repairing and selling upgrades. And it would work well with the Race calculation already in play. Race doesn't like player, no problem docking denied. You get the idea.
D Zorro,
It's funny you mention something about pirates. In the scripts forumn I made metion of how funny it would be if you could finance ships to the pirates since they have limited resources. And if they don't pay.... They get a litte visit from the repo man. See my post in the scripts forumn entitled "New script needed for PHQ". You will see there also my thought on selling ships and since EGO has given us their version of Pimp My Ship it would be if the player had it's own custom color scheme for ships created from the PHQ. I personally think it would be great flying around the universe, and say to myself....Hey they bought that ship from me.

Yeah, they must not have read the FAQ, or just missed this part:CBJ wrote:Simple: it is quite a bit cheaper to repair it yourself. For capital ships in particular that can make quite a big difference.fstrthnu wrote:I am really wondering what the player incentive for repairing their own ships is...
"As a rough guide (and it is very rough, especially for smaller ships) the total cost of repairing a ship with hull damage of 50% should be approximately 15-20% of the value of the ship, including both the cash cost and the value of the resources used."
Repairing a ship w/50% hull damage in a NPC shipyard costs, on average, ~50% of the value of the ship. That's a pretty big savings, if you ask me.

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

The Bala Gi update sounds amazing and is really revving up my desire to get right back into X3.
Had a quick question though about the random BBS missions in the new update:
- has anyone found that random, run-of-the-mill BBS missions appear more frequently after patching up to 2.0?
I'd often found that BBS mission availability was sparse at best from v1.0 all the way up to v1.4.03.
The Eclipse sounds awesome; as does the new weapon. Wicked stuff, guys.
Thanks

I had a company on Eve Online that built civilian-class transport ships. The feature of building ships is something that existed for years and years. It was strange coming to X2 (and X3) and not having that as an option. Having to wait hours for a ship to be built at a player-owned station is something I'm quite used to. Having to wait a day or two for a huge battleship to be finished is also old hat. Now, at least in some small way, this actually exists in X3 and that is awesome!Julius_Sneezer wrote:I like the new HQ but couldn't they somehow change the production times?

I'm not sure if it's just coincidence but I seem to have more things to do on the BBS than before. Also, I've seen news articles on the BBS that are actually relevant to the current game state. There was a Khaak (lol) invasion in Siezewell and I noticed there was a sector-wide alert at the stations informing everyone that now might be a good time to pack it up and leave. After a while, the Khaak (lol) appeared in even greater numbers and began to systematically grease civilian ships and stations. Another BBS notice was posted saying that the military were en route and if you're still in the sector, you need to GTFO. Kewl stuff.Aragon47 wrote:The Bala Gi update sounds amazing and is really revving up my desire to get right back into X3.

It also said that the Khaak (lol) were headed to 0. I'm guessing that's a script error.
EDIT: Oh, yes... and a sizable pack of military ships DID arrive and go after the Khaak after the latest news article was posted. So, it wasn't just crapper reading material.
