Your right, patch first THEN use BP. Should resolve some issues I've heard about.

To change the Mine's orientation, latch on to a part of the station itself, not the rock and to in the direction you want it to rotate, it should do so with minimal rock following movement.

I know how to rotate. Been doing it pre-2.0. (Or tried; there were "issues", but I basically got close enough). I just had no time to try it yet on 2.0. It cannot be worse in 2.0 than it was pre-2.0, can it? :wink:

I used the method to change the orientation of the HQ. Latched onto part of teh 'dome' on top and pulled. It rotated over the center.

So which way do I need to do it?

Ok, I am doing a clean install of X3 (been shelved for a few months), and I have heard 2 different ways of installing, so which way is correct?

Install > 1.4.3 > BP > 2.01

OR

Install > 2.01 > BP

Any OFFICIAL word on this?

Also one more thing, If I play the Bankrupt Assassin scenario, will I have access to EVERYTHING even though I'm not playing the plot?

Personally I went 1.0 -> 2.0.1 -> Bonus pack, simply because it seemed logical to me to patch before adding bonus materials.

Not noticed any problems so far.

I'm damn chuffed with this update. I'd had to shelve X3 after completing the plot as it was really stretching my pc to its limits. It still does, but in a much smoother way now. I can load Argon Prime in just 1 minute now - it used to take 2-3, and most other sectors in just 15 seconds, instread of a minute previously.

I can't wait to get stuck back in and see what's been added over the last year. :D

Total Kudos to Egosoft for the update. Whoever made the decisions and did the add-ons should be made chief designer of the next X variant.

Without giving anything away, I felt the new missions were like a primer for all the parts of X that many of us have ignored and/or were included with the new patch. I especially liked the part of the mission where there are clues, but you have to figure out where, when and how

And just for my 2 cents, I don't need animated faces or voices, just give me complex, multi phase missions with rewards at the end and I'm THERE!

All the new stuff works, makes sense and does not ruin the game's balance.

X3 is now a great game ........

Mind u, I have reinstalled X3 and applied the two huge patches does it have anything to do with it?

How do I solve it? :o :o :o

There is no "console" in X3 but a Script Editor. And to activate it you need to do the following:

1) Change your name to Thereshallbewings

2) Go to the Command console menu

I don't know how they did it, but performance is stellar now (pun intended!) :lol:
Loading times are greatly reduced as well.

Is all this just by removing Starforce?

Way to go Egosoft! You are a rare diamond in the rough. You could have easily gone the way of Bethesda and charged for this additional content, but instead you chose your fan base over your bottom line. In so doing, you have secured my loyalty as a fan and customer. Hats off to you, my friends.

need help!!
my game was patched to 1.4.03 before and it worked fine. but now that i installed the 2.0 update it wont work.

first i had the game cd in the drive and started like always but then it got that popup screen where it askes for an installer package(.msi) and says source 1 on the bottom of the screen(keep in mind this is all before the normal splash screen). so anyway i insert disc 1 because it said source 1 on the popup and it starts to install something and then it asks for disc 2, after that it asked for disc 5. as soon as i insert disc 5 and press ok it says "error ####" and then "fatal error has occurred" and it cancels the installation. has anyone fixed this? if so, please tell me how!!
Got any space weed? if not i can hook you up.

I think you are best to reinstall X3 from scratch then apply the needed patches all the way to 1.4.3 and then 2.0 ( after installation eject the CD's and dont put them back in )

Wow where to begin. Definately good work on updating the product, keeps folks interested and playing. However after reading at this point all 14 pages of replies I would have thought a few things would have been brought up by now. As I don't post much as you can see, but spend prolly too much time reading the boards, S&M boards mostly. However here is what I was thinking.....

I am sure that anyone who frequents the S&M boards may agree, but their have been many mods to address the need for a player owned station. While I am excited that ego has given us one, at the same time I am dissapointed about it's functionality. Understand that this is not a rant about game balance, it's a rant about options.

Ok, so we can build our own ships now, that's great. But wait untill the time comes to repair. As a player you can fly to any SY anywhere and in secs you can have a repaired ship. At our own HQ it can now take a half hour or more depending on amount of damage and size of ship. While this is great for realism, it just doesn't match. I would rather fly to someone else's SY and have my ship fixed now then wait a long time for it.

How about when we build our ships? Love the idea, and it's not exactly easy, which is great. But why O why after all this time and and after many mods by the good folks at the forum can we not have ship upgrades at our station. Of course it will need additional resources, but many I think wouldn't care. Why can we not get.....Cargo bay extension, boost extension, rudder optimization, engine tunning, special command software, trading system exstension etc, etc, etc, I think you get the idea.
Not only for just upgrading our own ships but to sell to other races for the player to make some credits. Additionally I understand that one of the main purposes for the PHQ is that if you have a bad rank with a race you can make your own ships, ok that's cool. But it would have been nice to be able to sell some or all of the ship that the PHQ can make, again for some extra credits. I don't think it would require a new race engine, it could work mostly off the one that is in play now. Ok so the paranid don't like me much, well then then can only buy some crappy disco's or something simillar. Ok the Argon love me ok, they can buy a better ship from me. Don't get me wrong I'm glade to see this addition, but was expecting a bit more.

One other point to ponder....UT's and the PHQ. UT's will visit your HQ very often for wares they can not find elsewhere. Without much way to control it. Since the HQ requires a ton of resources to build a ship, the UT's love it. Set the price low, and they will wipe out your resources, set it high, and they will bring in alot of resources. Prolly could use a better way to approach this.

For now I think I will post something in the S&M forum, see if the scripters can add a way for use to have upgrades for player ships and for sell to races and a way to sell some ships with options.
