It has been a while since I have visited xdownloads, and I am having some trouble with the new look (using Firefox).

- I cannot see a list of my files, even after logging in.

- I see no control panel for my account.


If I use an old link to connect to one of my files, then:

- "Latest Uploads" box covers the Search and Upload buttons.

- I cannot see a counter of number of downloads.

- I do not see an "Edit" button so that I can update the topic.

• As you can imagine, it is difficult for me to maintain my files this way.

These are linked, i've just tested the front end login and it doesn't seem to be working anymore. Trying to work out what is causing it because backend login still works?

The edit button is something I need to improve as I lost the image from the previous version of xdownloads.

As for the latest download module, it is assigned only to the front page so it shouldn't be there. Don't quite know how to fix that as that seems to be a joomla problem.

The Latest Uploads thing seems to be working correctly now. As you said, I now see it only on the first page. So I think you fixed that.

• In case you may be looking for ideas of extra work to do sometime when you feel like it... it might be nice to be able to upload additional files to a main topic. Such as .zip files added to a .spk topic. Or add-on options for a main script.

Yeah I deleted the css related to links, so that was the default colours. I have reworked them now.

I know that I can embed links in my description, but if I host auxiliary files on XDL then they show up at the same level as the main topics, which is confusing.

Alternatively, if there were a way to upload a file and keep the link hidden from users (except the author), then we could link it directly in our descriptions.

You could try to upload by the wysiwyg editor as you already have author priviliages.

- I don't know if the other editors have this function, but make sure you are using JoomlaCK.
- go to your existing download
- edit it
- click the link button in the wysiwyg editor
- this should take you to a place to upload your alternative file
- then you should have a new link.

The new page looks terrific. Your instructions for adding additional files appear to work (although I did not actually upload a file. Yet.).

• I almost suggested adding the file's title before I realized that it is cleverly camouflaged next to the Edit button.
  
  There is something about that section that is attractive but not obvious to my eye. It looks like part of the site rather than part of the file listing. Maybe left- or center-justified title on a plain background might be more obvious? (with a larger Edit button?)

Functionality, however, appears to be complete.

Our recommended simple method for clearing local DNS which works on most computers / OS:

1) Close all browsers.
2) Restart / reboot your router or modem.
3) Restart your computer.
4) Then try your domain.

If this does not work for you, you can wait for domain propagation to complete (48 hours) or you can try upgrading the DNS in your computer to use Google DNS:

Then after installing Google DNS restart your computer and router again.
