Is there a timescale for release of 1.3 yet?
I've had to stop playing X3 because of the ctd problem. I updated all my drivers, tried disabling sound, but all to no avail. I have a new board and graphics card, and all tests I've run indicate that my hardware is sound. I will be getting a seperate soundcard though.
Having to leave such a great game and worrying about my savegames being lost is no fun at all.
Is someone from Egosoft able to give some idea as to whether the savegame s I have will be saved by the patch?

100% Agreed. The 1.0 initial release version was obviously time constrained by the publishers, the 1.2 patch was obviously designed to coincide with the game hitting the shelves, so the rush job on both of those at least has a reason. There's no similarly compelling reason for 1.3 to be rushed, so it's much more important that it's done right, than done fast.The_Tigers_Eye wrote:One of the problems this game has, was it was rushed, so in all honesty, lets not rush the devs for the patches as well, a lot of people's decisions on whether they continue to play this game andinvest in future (if any) ones is resting on the next 2 patches, so they need to be right.

Most poeple will come to a time in the game that it will CTD when you target something it is a well talked about problem in Tech Support Hopefully 1.3 will sort it.Ive had to stop playing, because mines crashing all the time now
Instead of stop playing it I reinstalled and started a fresh game and enjoyed it better and did better with the experience learned from the first time round then by the time I get to the CTD stage 1.3 will have corrected it

There will be an update available quite soon which will be a version 1.2.1 (at present) prior to the release of 1.3.
Without wanting to be pinned down to an exact time, I'd be surprised if this was not available before the weekend.
The feature list will be posted at the time of release, so I'm not going to run through all of them now or later. However the priority areas of focus are:
- re-building the plot missions
- overall game performance, specifically looking at the HUD and menus
- Tooltips
- crashes / freezes upon targetting

Is that a rebuilding of BBS missions or another wasted bullet on that dead horse we call the plot?

interested in plot or not.... seems like beeing advanced in the plot somehow fixes ur stand with the paranids.... making it impossible to gain reputition with them for me atm
(on the other hand.... i can capture all there frighters in argon space get rep for that and the paranids seem not to care HRHR)

Oh no this is terrible news
-I don't mind replaying the missions everytime a new patch is released but what about everything I have gained up to that point specifically speaking my ship?
Will there be an option where I can tap in a starting amount of money so I can quickly buy a ship equal to what I have now?
I brought X-BTF and X2 after all the patches had been released so never had to worry about this problem before

Will 1.2.1 contain the full graphical optimisation mentioned previously or will that be in 1.3? Obviously there is the intent for continued improvement but I just wonder if now 1.3 is intended as fine polishing and fleshing out as oposed to just concentraiting on corections.
Part of the reason for asking is that if there is going to be a huge corective mesures in all of the patches to come then people are going to want to re-start the plot on the release of the next patch even if it is just to see the game as God intended it.
I have been thinking about holding off the continuation of the plot until I get my new graphics card so I can play the game in all of its glory. For me this is perfect for a sandbox type game, I may at some point re-start or try another start point but, holding off can become a slippery slope so even a rough timetable with the aims of the next planed patch would be heplfull.
Most of us understand that takeing time out to report this to us takes up time that could be used to develope and test so maybe we could have an in house interview soon.
Thankyou in advance,
FTI
