I need some help with my Logitech Wingman Cordless Gamepad.
I have followed all the advice in the sticky to no avail. My probelm is this. The game recognises the joystick and it has some functionality. However I have a problem with the throttle not being recognised. Also joystick two y-axis is behaving as the throttle and joystick 2 x-axis is behaving as the rudder, ie it roles instaed of strafes. As the throttle is not regonised I cannot remap the actions.
Can anyone confirm if they are using this gamepad successfully. Or can Egosoft confirn if this gamepad is supported correctly.

I have the same gamepad and I get exactly the same problem as you. I have also tried playing around with the Wingman profiles. Still no joy. It's almost unplayable like this. This gamepad worked flawlessly in XBTF, XT and X2. In fact, the throttle worked in XBTF with Windows XP. Hopefully this issue will be addressed soon, as the game is no fun at the moment.Aasvogel wrote:I need some help with my Logitech Wingman Cordless Gamepad.

Nice to know that I am not the only one with a problem with this gamepad.Praefectus classis wrote:

I should also point out that in X2 and XT the D-Pad acted as a POV hat, allowing me to looking around the cockpit. In X3 the D-Pad seems to have other game functionality, certainly not acing as a POV. Again I can see no way to reassign controls to the D-Pad in the control system.
I really need Egosoft to look at this as I am not going to buy a new gamepad/joystick just to play X3 when I have a gamepad that works fine with every other game I own.
Until this is sorted I am unable to play X3 the way I like, which is with a functioning gamepad (i.e. the way in which I played X2 and XT). The game will therefore sit unplayed.

nice to see that the problems get fixed. But my problem is a little different. I got a x45 and it work like a charm from the start
... as a pov hat
I tried to uncheck the pov hat, set every joystick settings ingame to none without effect. i reinstalled 3 times, last time to default place. I tried all the patch suggestions. playing with the arrows isnt my kinda fun so if someone could help me out so i can finally get my empire going i appreciate it.

I told the patcher to install(unpack) in another (empty) dir... after that I just copied the contents of that dir into my X3 dir overwriting all files...
Solved the problem for me. Hope that helps.
