Khaakhunter unite !
For those who wants to kill some time (and Khaaks) until X3 has arrived:
KhaakHunter
is ready for running.
Thanks to ESD for hosting and to all of you Happy Hunting!
Cheers Euclid
Edit: Thanks for the PM and yes I should have pointed out what the script does:
Provided your ship has combat software MK2 installed you get an additional command 'Scan for Khaak M3' in your ships' combat menue. This commad will scan every sector known to you for Khaak M3 or Khaak Cluster and will write a corressponding entry in your log.
Good Hunting ! E.

Awesome idea!
Way back then, i was thinking that to have Khaak-free sectors was a good thing... So i packed most of 'my' sectors with Centaurs. Even one Titan is patrolling P.End sector (to underline the importance of that sector to me, has nothing to do with the level of Khaak threat there, obviously).
For some time, peace reigned sovereign in my Empire, peace imposed by iron hand and dozen Centaurs...And now...i feel i am missing all those kinky purple ships
Whenever i hear 'warning! one of your....' and i jump in the sector, the show is already over.
And, 'Combing' all the sectors with satellites/lasertowers searching for Khaak is very nerve and time-consuming.
Lookin forward to use the new script. I D/L-ed it already, but prior to install it, will wait for a couple FB's .
thanks, have fun.
Chazz.

Can provide one feedback on a little 'bug':CHAZZ wrote: ...Lookin forward to use the new script. I D/L-ed it already, but prior to install it, will wait for a couple FB's .....
Once left-click on 'Scan for Khaak M3' Betty tells you that auto pilot is on. But it actually just takes 10 seconds and the only effect is that speed is dropped to zero.
If you cancel the auto pilot you also cancel the scan.
I gues that happens because I've connected the script to the MK2 combat software.
Besides that, everything seems to run fine.

Well in that case, nothing to be worried about, right? If i am going to fire up the Khaak-scan, the sector i am in is obviously Khaak-free. So, speed means nothing, since i will be using the Jumpdrive anyway. A short tap on the 'B' key resolves the 'problem'.
Anything else??
P.S. Anti-Khaak coalition strike fleet assembled: One Elephant TL, several Nova's, Barracudas, 4 KM3's and one Teladi Osprey PSG'ed.
Main goal: KM3 capture. The more, the merrier. Not that i ned the money or anything, just for the heck of it. Capturable Khaak ships was such a novelty to me way back then (im not very inclined to heavy game modding, just a tiny script like this one here and there...)

That was the basic idea behind the scriptCHAZZ wrote: .......Main goal: KM3 capture. The more, the merrier. Not that i ned the money or anything, just for the heck of it......

As a side note: playing the KhaakHunter since some time now and the frequency of KM3 spawning in the x2-universe is very good. Have barely time to take a rest.
Good luck with capturing !

Hi! Just quicky from a total non-tech.
How do I download this? I assume it is a script? I've downlaoded a mod into the 'mods' folder, but how do I do this one?

Download the zip file to your desktop, open it and read the "readme"
scripts go in your 'scripts' folder, mods in your 'mods' folder and numbered files in your 't' folder

Hi,
I saw this script and was like... YES!!!
I downloaded it and unzipped it and copied the files to where the readme says.
Issue is that I am in my Nova with Combat Mk 1 & Mk2 software but no extra commands in the combat menu or in the other menu.
Can someone help me get this active?
Does it only work for a new game or do I need to activate the scripts?
Many thanks,
MOOGUK

You should find it in the 'Combat' menu for sure (just checked).
No idea why it isnt there. I am running the 1.4 version and it works perfectly.
I did just like LV said (more than one month ago) and it went all OK.
Dunno, try to type (when in space) Thereshallbewings to 'activate' the scripts. Someone stated it helps in situations like this one you are having. Dunno, with 1.4 the scripts should load without activating them manually.
Check again that you putted all the files in the proper folders.
Good luck.
P.S. Make sure you have the Combat software Mk2 installed on your ship!!
