Very nice.
New missions that are more of a challenge and less about making money sound very good, I often think this game is a little too money orientated.
"One thing we do know... once someone plays the game, it is likely they will stick with it and look at future releases - our audience is constantly growing"
That much we know at least to be true!!!
Doesn't look like whoever's been taking those screenies has been very careful with their station networks! What a mess, if possible I intend to make mine look all nice and neat and pretty!

That is very true, before X2 the Threat, I never heard of the X-series and now I am hooked!!Bishop149 wrote:"One thing we do know... once someone plays the game, it is likely they will stick with it and look at future releases - our audience is constantly growing"

I love the visuals that the game has and I have not seen another game (outside Freelancer, which was great for a “mouse-space sim”) that can compete with the visual beauty of the game

This is going to rock - I can't believe that they can make X-2 evem better - but as I am relatively new here I'll take the veterans words for it.
Still, this game is in some ways better and in some ways not so better than my favorite all time space sim - Freespace 2. The story in that game was just awesome.
If I had one wish for the return it would be that the ships can transfer power to different systems. In FS2 (for those that never played it - shame on you) you could dump all of you power into your shields if you were getting pounded or you could dump it all into your engines and run.
Still though, the ability to play this game how you want to just makes up for all the small details that I wish X2 had.
Very very excited about this game - how about the company too? A company that seems dedicated to who matter most - the players. An expansion that is more like a new game than just "a couple new ships and sectors" is great and makes me feel warm and soft inside.

Agreed. The "trading/sim/empire" building with the gameplay and flight engine of FS2 = the ultimate game ever.flagg209 wrote:Still, this game is in some ways better and in some ways not so better than my favorite all time space sim - Freespace 2. The story in that game was just awesome.

People, LEARN:
Lose: To be unsuccessful in retaining possession of; for example: He's always losing his money.
Loose: Not fastened or restrained; for example: Loose papers

Amen to that -Agreed. The "trading/sim/empire" building with the gameplay and flight engine of FS2 = the ultimate game ever.
It should be do-able too - considering that FS2 only required a 3d grafics card capable of 16 megs. I was playing FS2 on a TNT2 card way back when.
I am not complaining at all though - its just in the interview they make it seem like making the "ultimate space sim" is such a mystery. I don't think so - we figured it out in about 5 minutes. Maybe I should send the guys at egosoft my copy of FS2

The shortest X² joke.
A boron cried: Help, I'm drowning!
The silliest accidents in the X Universe.
A Teladi bit himself on the tongue: since then he's had a speech impediment and lisssssps.
A Paranid lost his life surfing. He was riding a shockwave.

And lo! It shall come to pass, that the Testers of the Beta shall rise up in the forum and state:
'Oh man, this is so much better, I mean we can now <CENSORED> and <CENSORED> and that part of the plot where you <CENSORED> so that you can <CENSORED> with the <CENSORED>... Its fricking great! Oh and the <CENSORED> <CENSORED> <CENSORED> is so cool!'
NOTE: <CENSORED> due to conforming with the NDA.
And thus, shall there be wailing and a gnashing of teeth....

And I thought X-Tension was by far the best expansion (in terms of expanding gameplay) to any game I have playedGreg Kingston wrote: the transition from The Threat to X2: The Return is truly astounding - more so than the changes that X-Tension brought about on top of X-Beyond The Frontier

X2: Advanced Magnate, Ace of Aces 1st grade ~ X3R: Master Economist, Crusader
