NEWS: Developer Diary 2 @ TVG

Post by JonHandby »

TVG has published a new Developers Diary at their website. The diary features a chat with EGOSOFT\'s very own Martin Brenner, Lead Programmer.
The three-page article also contains several new screenshots.

You can view the article by clicking here.

:D 2001 and Bladerunner mentioned as having influenced the X-games 8) Pre rendered cut scenes instead of in game, a good idea methinks..

Pre rendered scenes is good to see.

As for the screenshots i like the one with the really huge TS. How long do you really need a TS to be?

Yeah, for us maniacs who read every little bit of information on which we can get our hands on, there's nothing new. :(

Oh well, if they would tell us even more then we know now, there would be nothing left to explore in the game. ;)

PS. The part about the AI. Sounds interesting. Hmm... I'm wondering....

I don't take myself serious.

If you take me and my posts serious, well, that's your problem.

In the screen shot, a ship with registration YM3IF-41 looks like it is attached to something. Turn out that it is an Argon Nova a few screens later. Wow, looks like you can attach modules to M3 as well, and make it carry big payloads?

Amen to that.....

it has probably been pointed out before but these screenshots make it look like you will be able to join multiple ships together in TR

For me, the really good news is that cutscenes will be actually prerendered and won't be using the game engine. I mean Julian is supposed to be romantically involved with Saya Kho but it's hard for me to buy that since she looks like some kind of mutant.

Isn't this a duplicate of The_Abyss's thread here?

I like the 8 new screenies. But i am afraid that that large freighter will get stuck between the docking port doors. And even before releasing there is a "patch 5". But a very gentle interface.

Factory Complex Hangar Alpha? Wonder what that is and what more could it mean hmmm...
...and the truly innovative alien races are those who never appeared before.
Now this is interesting.. first stop for me, the Unknown sectors to check if they aren't so unknown.

No, no, grasshopper - TR is patch 5... in a manner of speaking.

It wouldn't surpirse me if you logged on here on the release date to see a patch already there waiting to be downloaded though.
