Station Transfer/Sell

I have looked and couldn't find anything about this.

But I wonder if there is a mod that allows you to sell a station to another faction. Giving control to the npc. This works well with the building missions and also build up the economy.

I would try to make a start on modding it but I have no idea where to start.


Do you think it's possible to sell stations to a manager from that faction? That manager will move to that station and control it with it's own budget or w/e. Don't know if X:R has a system for this.


It's one of those features from x3, where you build a station for another faction. But the control is always in npc hands from the start.

Whilst it isn't exactly what you have asked (selling owned stations to factions), the Build Station Mission mod by Clownmug/camus allows you to support the construction of NPC stations.

I think the most immersive approach would be that some faction rep contacts you for buying one of your assets. You then meet him on the related Station and can accept or reject the offer (or just dont meet him for a certain time which is the same as rejecting)
Upon accept all subordinates of the station are also transferred and missing control entities are spawned...
Also in both cases the buyer is removed when the player is gone since he isnt needed anymore.

Other way to present the offer would be using the respective Manager as substitute buyer always presenting the offer, which would be a starting point since it doesnt depend on the random appearence of a buyer.

That's a good idea.

What about the following added to your idea: The player can set up a station with a manager. Then the player can go into the station and talk to the manager. There will be a option to make the manager search for a seller, after a while the player will be confronted with a offer, which can be profitable or a loss, depending if the station is needed in the area and well placed. (can be random I guess). I think this is pretty nice to fill up the manager's role in this game.

Maybe another option: "go solo" and they will make their own company/faction. The manager will pay you the price from his well earned sallery :D



How does one even start to make a mod to this?

if you are still interested in writing a related mission i could spend a bit time on explaining the necesary stuff this weekend. i cannt look up stuff at work and also dont have much time to read or write replies there, so during the week i can only give generic answers without specifics..

Thanks, I should do some tutorials from the forum first though. Are they up to date?
