Terrible framerate out of nowhere TC - resolved by setting graphics card affiliation

Hello everyone! As the subject implies, after near flawless performance with consistent and excellent framerate over the past 2+ years that I have played X3 trilogy (STEAM version, NO MODS, VANILLA) TC's framerate is suddenly very low. Just yesterday everything was fine. Today when I go on, the star menu has very low framerate as well as ingame.

This happened after I installed the latest driver for my Nvidia 555m gpu. I was wondering if perhaps that is related? Thank you for any help! Please see my Dxdiag.

Also check that when you updated your Nvidia driver, it did not somehow change your graphics affiliation settings intended for the game exe to use the Nvidia card rather than the Intel graphics chipset (the latter would render the game much slower than the card). You may need to reset the game's graphics affiliation in the Nvidia Control Panel and Windows Control Panel.

Your Nvidia card settings and driver are not shown in the DxDiag you posted so it is perhaps possible that the driver update installation failed somehow. It may be worth checking if not reinstalling it.

Another thing, have you had the Cyberlink application and codecs all along or have you only recently installed them?

SUCCESS! The driver update seemed to have reset my GPU settings so that TC was suddenly using the crappy integrated intel card instead of the superior performing Nvidia 555m GPU. Thus, I changed the settings in the Nvidia Control Panel and everything works as it should! Thank you very much Alan for that suggestion! TC performs like a beauty once more. I guess this case is closed! Once again thanks for the advice.
