Having commissioned the construction of my 9th station, and beginning to form my own space navy division, as well as my own personal vanguard of destroyers, the "Property Owned" page is starting to become very large.
My proposition is to allow the making of sub-folders and links within the page to better manage my vast intergalactic empire.
For instance, I'd like to make folders for the different Galaxies/Sectors, containing the stations and ships therein, and within those folders have links to another folder containing the various fleets of vessels.
This would allow me to make sense of the property owned page and manage it at a glance, instead of having to peruse each individual item to ascertain it's whereabouts and current orders.
It would also be a nice touch if I could issue commands to the folders. For instance, I have a folder that contains a carrier and several destroyers, I can issue an order to that folder to "fly to xxx zone and attack all enemies", instead of having to order each vessel individually. This would mean the ships would act as a group and arrive at the same time, not one after another (making the first ship to arrive "vulnerable" and the last ship to arrive "too late for the show" ).
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
Suggestion: Making the "Property Owned" page more manageable

I like the idea. However, I think the simplest solution for them would be to break it down to separate pages for ships and stations. There should be a locator somewhere next to the name to specify what zone the asset is in. I know that can be done in the details>show on map tabs. But that should be page one information.

@ Black Rain
You knwo that assigning ships to ships will not work in 2.0?
The ships assigned will not really do anything. But you are right in case you only look at the Management aspect.
Hopefully 2.5 will finally end this Problem . . . we'll see

I've been trying to assign a destroyer to another destroyer, however the option is greyed out, It seems that I can only assign ships to stations. I find this odd as if I check under the Commander of the selected flagship properties there is a page of "subordinates" but the list is empty, so It should be possible, I just can't work out how?BlackRain wrote:you can manage it by assigning ships to other ships and stations but yes, we need to be able to customize it a bit. Would be nice to be able to create categories of our own to put ships in.
What am I missing here? do I need to assign the ship a pilot instead of a commander? (this doesn't seem possible either)
I think this might be a broken feature as Black Falcon has pointed out.

Have to agree with you Lander.
But not only is the page getting a little "weildy", I myself would like to also see multiple highlight orders.
Case in point, I have let's say 6 ships in a system and need them all to go somewhere else. Right now you have to go to page one - select the SINGLE asset, go to Comm, select New order, and pick your next order - on and on and on and on...............
Rather, I'd like to see a simple "Windows" version Shift-Click highlight of the assets and tell them what to do.
I realize it sounds simple but then I'm not a Dev and therefore sadly am counted in one of the losses in the thousands.

Cheers.

What do you mean? You can assign ships in 2.0. You can't assign a Taranis to a taranis in 2.0 but you can assign a balor to a taranis, and such. You can also assign to stations.Black Falcon wrote:@ Black Rain
