Great great great!
Don´t forget to add some capital ship bridges... landing pad lacks the feeling...
Also a "fly where I click on map" command.
Carry on improving the AI. There is still a lot of work to do, trading ships getting stuck when freight is being exchanged in-zone and following ships getting stuck for a while (removing & then adding the ship in squad helps however).

Its a nice list of updates, the 64bit executable was a pleasant surprise.
Map view on event monitor though, hmm look I don't want to start a mutiny here but that wasn't the feedback was it. So is this going to be a place holder for a proper cockpit instrument or a permanent compromise feature?

What childish aspects?
If you dont like minigames, dont do them. They weren´t in previous games anyway, so they are just small bonus. Besides, they are fast and you spend only 0,0000001% of your playtime at minigames, so I really dont see any reason why somebody should care about them.

Any word on player asset control? I hear a LOT about the lack of this on the forums. It feels so stupid to take all our hard earned cash and resources, and buy a station/ship for the AI - having no say in how it works, what it does.
Influencing pricing, stock levels, set up trader ship supply lines, controlling our ships is a must have in this game imo.
Is this impossible to have, or will be implemented at a later date?
Or should we expect that mods will solve these things?

The bottom line is that 50 to 100 thousand people bought XRebirth ...only around 500 are playing 3 months later. Egosoft have to find a way to return the lost players to the game and I see nothing so far to make them return. There are aspects of the game that are enjoyable but the overlying trend is towards easy with no challenge ... My opinions make no difference to the future of the game just game players ...get enough ... you survive.

How so? Bernd specifically says they are revamping the highway system and functionality of landing on stations. These are two BIG areas people are complaining about constantly on the forums. I see that as a distinct acknowledgement of a problem with the promise of a fix.birdtable wrote:Still a refusal to remove childish aspects ,, still a refusal to accept reality ... For those of us who are a little in the dark, could someone explain to me the benefits of using a 64 bit EXE? It's always been my impression that a 64 bit OS could run 32 bit and 64 bit EXE's equally well. Or am I misunderstanding something?

from a graphics point of view, I would still like to get away from the "granny heads" on female NPCs.
Maybe have various ages related to experience...
dolly birds flirt and give little . more mature and they are experienced and willing to sell you good information or better wares .
The guys seem more or less ok, but maybe something similar.
Just wish we could see their experience level instead of a list of question marks.

A 64 BIT exe will allow the game to use more RAM. ATM its limited to something like 3.5 GB.....even if you have a system with say 16 GB.Ericius11 wrote:How so? Ah, thank you. Even I, with only basic knowledge of computer workings, can see how nice that will be.BrownShortz wrote:A 64 BIT exe will allow the game to use more RAM. ATM its limited to something like 3.5 GB.....even if you have a system with say 16 GB.
You know... Bernd mentioned that they were looking into changing the system UI. That sounds great and all, but I'm curious what he means by "text based filtering system." It sounds vaguely like they might add more nesting to the menu?? That doesn't sound very encouraging...

Do we have to go through the slow menu to get to the logbook? Or will we e a be able to use a shortcut (like L or something) to get to it?
Still not quite enough for me, but thanks for the improvements.

Really ? i was wondering what difference it would make as well, why on earth would they only limit RAM usage to 3.5 GB ? when most people these days have at least 8 GIG of RAM on board, thanks for the info, that choice to bring out a game that can only access 3.5GB makes no sense to me, could the choice they made there actually contribute to low FPS in game ?BrownShortz wrote:A 64 BIT exe will allow the game to use more RAM.
