This is painfully simple but what can I say? It annoyed me.

Run

  • Doubles walking speed in stations.
  • Increases backwards / strafe speed by 50%.
  • Lets you look up/down at a slightly steeper angle.
  • Doubles jump height.

If you want to increase speed further - it's just one tiny text file with obvious parameters. Enter whatever you like.


Installation

Extract the Run.zip archive into

\Steam\steamapps\common\x_rebirth\extensions\

If there is no "extensions" folder, create one.


Download (ZIP)

And by now this post is probably larger than the mod. =P

That up/down looking angle was bothering me a lot! Thanks for fixing it. Very Happy

Would you consider using nexus as well? I've always lost a bunch of mods on these forums, the nexus website is very handy to keep track of mods.

I imagine this will work in reverse? The current speed makes me dizzy. I will try that when I get home. Can you possibly update with what the default speed value is?

This is great, if not almost a little too fast! Out of curiosity, is there any way in which to mod in a kind of sprint function? For example, the default walk speed could be kept, but we could also sprint while holding down the boost key. I'm no modder so I have no idea if implementing a sprint key function is currently feasible or not, but I'd love to see the option if it's possible.

Thanks all the same for the simple but effective mod! Makes moving around stations much less painful! :D

You do realize the speed you move through stations is already at run speed right, and there's an option to even move at walk speed if you hold down a button xD I get what you're doing but yeah default move speed is already run speed. People keep complaining there is no run, when that is what you're already doing.

Oh, pfft, never realized that, as my ill-informed suggestion made quite clear. Razz Well then this mod works perfectly well as-is. The default run-speed is way too slow, so this in comparison is just right. Wasn't aware of the reverse walk-button lol. Thanks for the tip!

Reverse walk button xD Thats just great, but I totally agree with you, default does feel a little slow.

Well, if you want you can set the regular speed "low" and change the "walk modifier" from 0.5 to 2.0.

Then you have a run or sprint key instead of a walk key.
It's just a number...
