I knew it. I knew that was the first thing they'd say in response to the question.Egosoft wrote:Lots of them. Ok, ok. I know you want a list. Well one of the things that I personally look forward to the most is support for VR solutions like the Oculus Rift.

Didn't really end up answering my question at all though. But I guess it makes sense, given the reactions they've received when they've announced they've made [insert controversial topic here] design choice.
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

Earth Ultimatum IV. won't be happy.., Would make a good poll as to whether this is a post release priority for people.3. Will some/all Capital Ships have a bridge you can walk onto in 1st person and give commands to the captain or watch the battle from or are we stuck inside our skunk while inside the capital ship? If not then what can you do exactly while docked to a capital ship?
No there is currently no plan to have a “bridge” view. I don’t see that changing anytime soon, but see my comments above about feedback. You can dock on capital ships including your own, you can walk around and talk to NPCs but this is not a proper indoor representation including a bridge and more importantly there is no plan for any direct control while you are ON the ship. On the contrary: You have UI modes while you are in your much more versatile, fast and maneuverable player ship (the Skunk). With those modes you can very quickly and efficiently command a capital ship to pick up objects for example.

Number 8 suddenly made me lose half my interest in the game.
How can you run an empire with 100's of trade ships if they can't be set to automatic? You can't.
Also the trailer said "The largest x universe ever" But they seem to keep hinting at it being quite small. Have they ever said exactly how large it is compared to previous games.
Now the game does not seem so far away.

Think about it. Why someone working all by is own, winning is hard owned money, would give you a part of his benefits ?Hardscript wrote:Number 8 suddenly made me lose half my interest in the game.

Sorry there are no mafias in X Rebirth... and it's logic.

The player owns the ships and hires the pilots to fly them. It's not a mafia, it's called 'business', and in this case, a 'shipping business'. And yes, the pilots do get paid.TheShadowofSins wrote:Think about it. They didnt say you need to manually use every single trade ship. They said that you cannot use stuff like: "Universe Traders" anymore, because honestly, those were bull anyways
You gotta think like this: You always controll the biggest thing.
You control a single trade ship, unless there is a big trade ship (TP<TL). Or you controll a TL unless there is a station that controls the TL. In that case you control the station.
No more micromanaging single tradeships after a few hours of gameplay and no more, as he stated, money machines by having 200 universe traders.

Eh, I think we keep asking an insufficiently specific question (and Bernd keeps on misinterpreting the question to mean "can we have an on-board capital ship interface to directly control said ship").DaddyMonster wrote:Earth Ultimatum IV. won't be happy.., Would make a good poll as to whether this is a post release priority for people.3. The question I'd like answered (and that, it seems, EU4 also wants answered) can basically be boiled down to:
1) Do capital ships have windows?
2) Can I give orders to capital ships while walking around on board said capital ship?
And if the answer to both of these is "yes" then I'm happy.

Well he did say you can assign buyers to stations, who presumably manufacture things without direct input... if you can assign sellers as well then we should be good. How can you run an empire with 100's of trade ships if they can't be set to automatic? You can't.

And it probably depends on what you mean by "large". The original X universe was 7 X 7 sectors with a couple stations in each. Not huge by today's standards. It has grown since then but still probably isn't that large if you were to rearrange it into a simpler grid.
By number of stations, maybe less. The stations are larger, though so there's probably more stuff to do overall.

My interpretation on that is that while there might be fewer systems than there were in X3:TC/AP, each area is larger than the older sectors, thanks to both the local highways letting Egosoft spread things out more in an area, and to the Super Highways.Hardscript wrote:

You know, some players liked that option, and it was optional.raya6789 wrote:...

Please explain how this is any more of a 'money machine' than having a large complex selling illegal goods. In fact, you were almost certain to lose a few of those so-called 'money machines' due to ineptness by the pilot or just bad luck. Then you, the player, had to replace and retrain them. Kinda like how real businesses operate, you know.and no more, as he stated, money machines by having 200 universe traders.

It might not be that they were unwilling to give us money machines, it might just be an AI/command hierarchy issue that prevented UTs from making 1.0.Hardscript wrote:How is a Ut any more of a automatic money machine than a self sustained space weed factory with its price set to average -1.
Except for the fact the factory is easier to roll out and the same effort to manage 1 as it is to manage a complex of 200.
Just a guess.

If they didn't answered directly these parts of the question, it's because the answer is no. But a "no" is a no go in marketing.

Yeah. Pretty sure they've said the entire game is 4 systems.Hardscript wrote:Number 8 suddenly made me lose half my interest in the game.
