[X3AP] Instability after BP Installation? [Not BP but is NPC TL lockup + saves]

So I recently installed the Bonus Pack material, as I was getting tired of all my freighters trying to trade in war zones, and saw that there was a 'Blacklist Sector' option.

Now, it seems to have worked, as I haven't had a single 'your ship is being attacked in Omycron Lyrae' report yet, but now I seem to have a problem with the game locking up after a few minutes.

If I knew where the save game files were stored, I'd send it to you, as it seems to be linked to something specific. In the mean time, if I uninstall the Bonus Pack, does that mean my save games are now all destroyed?

I hope this can be fixed, as I'd rather not have to rebuild my immense trade empire from scratch.

I'm pretty sure it's related to the Bonus Pack installation, since it never happened before I installed it.

Additional Information:

I am not running any third party scripts (the bonus material is all signed, so my game is listed as unmodified)
I have the latest version of Albion Prelude from Steam
The lockup happens predictably, and has basically made it impossible for me to continue my game. I have not identified the exact trigger, but I assume there is one.

Check to see if you have a ship anywhere on a manual trade command. If you can cancel that ship's orders before the lock-up then you should avoid it as that command can freeze the game under certain trade circumstances. I think the Bonus Pack installation is just a coincidence as its scripts are actually very stable.

By the way, you can get much more recent RealTek HD Audio drivers for your onboard sound from the RealTek driver update site that are optimised for use with Win7.

I don't think so. I looked through my ships (and I have a lot of them), and none of them seemed to be on manual trade command. The lockup is quite predictable. It's always happening, so it's not a random problem of any sort.

I've uploaded my save file. It wont take very long for the lockup to happen. My trade ships are all named according to what commands I have them doing (eg. Sector Trader, Energy cell transporter ect...), and I don't use the manual trade commands - they seem redundant to me.

Yes that save locks up about 15 sec after loading every time. I suspect it is a ship script issue because it is so precisely predictable, perhaps a result of the onset of something like this? The problem is that the save does not give enough time to really check into things. Do you have another save from a few minutes or so earlier?

As a sanity check please also run the Steam verify gamefiles cache tool for X3TC and X3AP.

It still locks up, but you've got a lot more time before it happens.

Checking the integrity of the game cache files was the first thing I did, and it said they were all fine.

OK, using that earlier save it locks up at the same gametime as for the later save if you stay in sector. However if you jump to another sector beforehand it does not lock up at that time. If you jump back to the original sector after the deadline has passed you just get a black screen lock-up rather than a sector arrival.

It is probably nothing directly to do with the BP at least.

I suspect it might be another case of the NPC military ship script conflict referred to in that link I gave above. One of the military ships in that sector where your saves take place may develop a script conflict at that time and cause a freeze. I will link your thread in that one as your two savegames may be of use for further diagnosis.

You may be OK if you continue your game from the earlier save and jump out but I don't know when if ever you will be able to go IS into the original sector again.

It would appear to be related to my problem. Went with the first save which locked very shortly in. Jumped away and checked the sector. Lock occurs as soon as a Paranid Hercules TL enters the system. Watching it shows it staggering south west where it gets stuck and does some NE/SW jerking. Able to enter sector as soon as it is destroyed.

Seems you are stuck avoiding that sector for now. Keep an eye on it though and maybe it'll wander off. It seems to move *very* slightly when I'm not watching the sector (cursor length north after a few minutes of seta).
