Seriously.
Has this happened with any of u guys?
I was happily corvette hunting with my Springy when I found out two Argon Centaurs. Scanned the first one saw that it had Sentry Lasers them went for the second.
Secon was empty for the taking so I stared my boarding party. All went well and after they cutted the hull I went to kill the other one so I had no problems. When I just saw a lot of red "Astronauts" in space.
THAT TOOK Me by surprise.
I didn't let them try to board my ship (Seriously!?) But lol I didn't know NPCs could board u now.
Has any of this happened with u guys?

I boarded a pirate Centaur spawned from a station defense mission once.
It had eight Paranid marines on board and when my marines hacked the core, two of the Paranid marines stayed on board and switched to my control, and the remaining six bailed out of the pirate Centaur. I picked them up and they were mine, too.
So in the end I lost two marines and gained eight.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

Did Betty tell you "Warning, one of your ships is being boarded"? (I forget the exact wording.)
Even though NPC boarding of player ships was never implemented, it seems they thought about doing it since that verbal notification exists in the game. (You usually get it when a group of your marines is late to the party, reaching the target ship after the non-slackers have already finished hacking the core)
Otherwise, they might have been bailed marines from the ship you boarded. I've heard this was an issue in TC too, before one of the patches.

I reloaded that save and actually went after those marines.
It appears they bailed out from the enemy ship (don't know why)
And when I got to them it was like I rescuing your own marines.
they switched to my control.
So sadly no it is still not implemented =/.
I'm really sorry for bringing up a mistaken information. I was really suprised when I saw the marines flyin lol.

Didn't XTM have NPC boarding as one of the AI plugins?
Slightly different subject, but I've caught my Cobra doing boarding missions all by itself a few times now. Had to reload a few games because it was launching Marines at the M6/M7s I was trying to kill in order to board the M1/M2.

I almost managed to collect argon marines (I play terran) after a boarding op.. 8 of em floating around.kurush wrote:When the ship you board has some marines, they run for their lives once you reach the computer core. You can even collect them using a TP and get some free marines this way. I did it once.
Bam - one of my wraith missiles (one of them 50 flying around aimlessly from the previous fight) hits one of the marines as I'm closing.. and the blast takes them all out.
