Testing the forthcoming X3TC 3.2 update
If you have basic DevNet membership (no NDA required) and are interested in testing our forthcoming 3.2 update for X3TC, then please head over to the X3TC Public Beta Testing forum (if the link doesn't work for you then you need to sign up to DevNet in your ForumProfile!) and download our Release Candidate version.
This update brings some of the fixes and performance improvements from X3AP back into X3TC, including certain improvements from the X3AP 1.1 update which is due for release very soon now. The primary mission-related slowdown in X3AP does not apply to X3TC, but in the course of fixing that we found some improvements that could be applied to both games, so hopefully you should see some improvement in existing X3TC savegames that have slowed down over time!
Note that this is a test version, and while we will make every effort to ensure that it is savegame compatible with the final release, it is possible that it may not be, so please back up your savegames before using it.

I'm happy to see that you are bringing back the fixes and tweaks here. I love seeing new fixes.CBJ wrote:Again, no. As my first post says, what we are transferring back into X3TC are bug-fixes and performance improvements. We are not transferring new or improved features.

Re: Testing the forthcoming X3TC 3.2 update
This is great news. I would like to give the RC TC a vanilla run, but cannot access the download area. I now have User-Level: 3 access, have deleted browser cache files, cookies, logins/passwords etc, logged in/out, closed browsers and restarted, yet still have the issue. Sometimes I get the login screen, and sometimes it goes straight to "forum does not exist" message. I don't know what else to try except perhaps wait for something in the forum software to catch up with the new higher level access in my profile??CBJ wrote:If you have basic DevNet membership (no NDA required) and are interested in testing our forthcoming 3.2 update for X3TC, then please head over to the X3TC Public Beta Testing forum (if the link doesn't work for you then you need to sign up to DevNet in your ForumProfile!) and download our Release Candidate version.
EDIT: Within 15 seconds of posting this suddenly the link worked. As I did nothing but post this it must have been the delay thing happening.

Quite right. However, given that this update doesn't contain any new features that could spoil anything for anyone, I think we can allow people to report back on their experiences with it. Just this once.Terre wrote:Although not covered by an NDA, Beta testers are asked not to discuss the new features.
