x3ap: ships commands setting to none

Post by bengoin »

i first saw this while using the commercial agent http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=275924 and figured if encounter a problem while buying or selling and didnt know what to do but now i have set an m7 with 2 escorts patrolling a few sectors and after a few sectors its command switches from patrol to none. is this a bug? playing unmodified.

Obviously nothing to do with CAG this time. Could it be something like this? (Note this talks of combat ships going to idle rather than none though.)

by the looks of things with CAG. it switches to none after being attacked. once it has docked at its safe station it turns off all commands instead of waiting 5 minute. i think so anyway. ive got a few ships who were trading and the message in the message log was that had been attacked and are now sat in a station with no command. just watching my m7 now to see what happens

edit: after testing the m7. i left it in elenas fortune with the command attack all enemys while i wasnt looking it had been attacked and its command changed to none. i also lost an eclipse that was "protecting" it. im going to assume its command also changed to none as i lost an eclipse earlier to similar circumstances. it seems combat is breaking commands

combat of any kind of your ai controlled ships will break any command ships and set it to none.

If you plan to have trading empire don't piss anyone off make most of pirates blue before even starting

If your want the ship to ie jump in combat u must get in that ship

Yup, I'm seeing the same in my game with combat commands.

If you give your ships a Combat/follow command they should NEVER go to IDLE; I especially notice it if they are attack by a 2nd enemy.

I don't remember having this issue is any other X game.

THIS IS A BUG, i made a topic about it some time ago.

Any time ANYTHING hits YOUR AI controlled ship, its command goes to "NONE", set your own M6 to autopilot and go fight pirates. First time you get hit, it happens.

One way to avoid it is making fighters use wings. Wing re-sends its commands to all ships, so they pick it back up after few seconds. Devs have been notified, hoping a patch will fix this... Not sure why some get the bug and some dont. If you do, better dock those u-traders or else...
