AP update

Post by TTD »

Just looked on Steam.
There has been an update to Albion Prelude
X3: Albion Prelude Update 1.0b

The 1.0b update for X3: Albion Prelude features a number of fixes.

Version 1.0b features:
- Fixed freeze/crash in Stock Exchange menu
- Fixed several mission problems
- Fixed achievements "Albion Pride" and "Survivor"
- Fixed issues with missile defense
- Removed incorrect ships from Race Response fleets

Available Languages: English, French, German, Italian and Russian.
And in case you've missed it...

the AP Bonus Pack is ready in the downloads section of the Egosoft site. :D

Thanks Ego for these extra bits. :)

Plus there was an update to TC, though maybe that was to fix the missing voices many of us got, in the Steam TC install.
It doesn't say what it changed but, it was a substantial download, 254Mb's Vs 4 :) .

The voices are fine in my disc installed version of TC, fine the Steam install of AP, but not working in the Steam version of TC.
Strangely, the intro movie plays in my Steam version of TC (minus voices), when it hasn't played for ages in my disc version of TC, which otherwise plays perfectly :) .

The last official update for TC on Steam was February this year.

Sometimes Steam will replace damaged files ,according to some threads I have read.

It even re downloads the Sunny Place DLC on my system sometimes !

Why ? I do not know.
Just glad I have free internet atm. :D

Well I'm outraged!

I run Steam in Offline mode and, as I wasn't playing, the Client wasn't even running and Steam didn't update a thing!

For some insane reason, it appears that through various config options Steam allows me to check for and apply updates only when *I* chose this is unacceptable.

I want updates forced upon me, especially the larger ones which then hold up play...*sigh* I had certain expectations with Egosoft moving to Steam as a distribution platform and NONE of those expecations have been met.

Don't even get me started on Skyrim! I wanted the buggy v1.2 update but NO, just because I asked Steam to stay offline and not update - it did exactly as I asked meaning I remained on my working v1.1 copy! When the generally ok v1.3 patch came out I had to go through the lengthy process (about 12 seconds, that's twelve whole seconds I'll never get back) of manually asking Steam to go into online mode before it updated. Shoddy.

Ah well, luckily the games are worth all this hassle otherwise I'd be seriously reconsidering my plans to purchase Rebirth.

Scoob.

Lol, sorry ;) Thanks for the heads-up TTD, all updated and working just fine :)

I'm sure Egosoft is collectively sorry for not properly big brothering your computer.

Be sure to stop by in Würselen and collect your very personal hug.

Any word whether the "Fixed several mission problems" section is about the Taxi missions that were slowing down the game considerably?

Thanks for all your "off-beat" humor.
Made a change from the usual rants.

@ omik: The post 2 above yours would indicate not.

You can't have "borderline" smut, it's either smut or it ain't. I call smut on this one, but as it's festive smut then it's all good :)

Sorry TTD if we slightly derailed your valuable information thread!

Sarcasm overload...

Too much sarcastic energy within this post, could possibly overload the clogs required to keep the Universe in balance.

Please try and bear this in mind, try a dash of sarcasm next time instead of a bucket load... :P

@TDD I think the mods may beg to differ if we derail it too much.

@Scoob I feel like deleting it now... :S
