Hi peeps!
BTF Joystick throttle STILL doesn't work with Saitek 3D USB, although X-Tension has no problem with it, nor does any other game i've tried it with.
Any chance of some copy & paste action between the two .exe's and a patch release that finally fixes this really old and basic bug?
Manuals. Where are they? The box has a half-inch thick PRINTED encyclopaedia and there is a whole disc devoted to extras, including guides & charts etc., but no official handbooks?!? I've trawled the forums, but not found a link for the BTF manual. Where is it? (and the rest?)
The X series is the only reason my joystick exists. Best space game since Elite.
BTW, has anyone here read the books? Worth getting?

Maybe it is the model you have? I'm using the old Logitech Attack 3 stick and it is fine with the throttle shift.
I don't know if there is a BTF manual available anywhere online but if you keep hitting shift-H then you'll get a bunch of tips that actually help.
As far as the books are concerned I have only read Farnham's Legend since it is the only one translated into English and I thought it was pretty good.
I wrote a mini review of it in the CU forum here's the link.

The PDF Manuals for BtF and X-Tension are on the first Superbox DVD (Disk1_XBtF_to_X3R) in the folder Documents for either Game.
You will need to go through Windows Explorer (Not the AutoRun) The manual for XBtF appears to be entirely in German. I'm not sure if there is an English Translation anywhere. But there is something of a Beginner Guide to XBtF in English on disk in the same place.
X2 and X3R (and X3TC) Manuals should be installed along with the games in the install directory you selected.

Well the joystick works with everything else i've ever tried and the Win callibration recognises the throttle. X-Tension also has no problem with it so i guess someone just couldn't be bothered to update the BTF exe for the re-release.
I found the manual, thanks. Not that it was worth finding! lol
For anyone who doesn't speak German, don't worry, you haven't missed anything!
Cheers peeps!

superbox manuals
Hi Yes all manuals are on the first cd, yes but for ' beyound the frontier ' it's a walkthrough not a manual and although quite useful dosn't replace the original documentation supplied with the program !
