Superbox Game manuals( or X-BTF help and spoilers)

Post by TTD »

I have not checked all the games yet,but have started on X-BTF.

On the disc there is a Walkthrough.
There is a German Handbook.
But no English Manual in the X-BTF folder.

Where can we get one?

Or at least a keyboard map for each of the games...( although I only need manuals or keyboard map for BTF/XTENSION

Cheers.

I managed to work out that to save, you buy Salvage Insurance

I have also worked out how to play using full 32bit screens.
run game with check box opn for the graphics .
Go to grapjics settings and use dropdown menu to select the graphics settings at 32bit
Select the resolution of you monitor or size of window you wish to use
click OK and you you will be able to play on your normal screen.
This is also true for Xtension.

Also some basic equipment has to be purchased that come as standard in TC.Such as Navigational map.

So we can let this thread be a reference for BTF with SPOILERS,

I appreciate this! X Superbox made me play X-BtF for the very first time, so (it feels odd to ask such questions after all :D) where can I find commanding software for navmap or map itself for purchase?

Thanks

What you are after is called Navigation Software. Any/most E-Docks should have that.

I have a few small issues with X-BTF.
The throttle doesnt work on my joystick (which isnt bad as the keyboard option is fine).
I cant find the universe map (there may not be one).
And the screen doesnt quite fit at 1920x1200, I lose a small part of the top and bottom of the screen, could this be down to using 16:10 rather than 16:9 aspect ratio?

I think this is an issue with how the newer operating systems handle joysticks. The game was originally written for Windows 95/98.

Nope, there isn't. I can sell you my old 1999 handmade, coffee-stained pencil-n-paper copy, if you want. :P On second thought, I'll probably need it myself.

Again, the game's graphics weren't coded for today's modern monitors and video cards, so you'll probably have to make do with changing resolutions, if you can.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

X4 is a journey, not a destination. Have fun on your travels.

You may have to use the start menu to access joystick settings.
Works fine with my Logitech Attack 3 Joystick..throttle included.

Universe and sector maps ...see above replies. You need to purchase the software in order to access them

Alternately, just memorising the system locations from all the trekking about in X2, X3, andX3TC should serve you well.

Or take one of the premade excel based maps (instead of those fancy flash/jpeg maps) and get to work editing it (by removing all the new systems we got in X2 and such).

Also, a tip... strafe drive extension isn't equipped by default on ships. That means you either buy it, or don't strafe!

To be fair, that was true all the way through to X2.

It wasn't until X3 that it came as standard.

Here is the link to the X-tension Manual download.

http://www.egosoft.com/download/x_gold/ ... ownload=95

I guess it would be similar to X-BTF, but some one on here may be able to deny or confirm that.

Still can't find a BTF manual :(

============================

Ok..so I trade with e-cells,buy low sell high.
Expand my cargo hold.
Buy SETA

There are some flower farms and refineries there, but difficult to find them immediately.

Buy navigation system....Map activated with the [N] key...just shows map,not info... :?

Was X-tension an add-on to BTF in that you could continue from a save from BTF after BTF missions were complete? or was it the same as with TC /Reunion?
