What did YOU do with your ANH reward (and why)?
There was a thread about the ANH reward sector a while back, but it seemed to concentrate mainly on either 'roid yields or the mysterious dead gate. I was hoping to find some complex ideas and so forth there, but to no avail.
So what did you do with your very own sector? I've set up a few mines, but it's not enough to bring in the NPC traffic (even with the Hub linked to it). I'd like to start making weapons or something, but I need some advice as to what missiles and weapons sell well?
Alternatively: Did anyone find anything else funky to do with their sector?

mines a scrapyard for ships too heavily damaged in combat(and that served in critical battles), the 'roids were broken up to make it into a ghetto asteroid belt.
theres a split trade port infront of each junkpile, named after the sector the battle was in, and the name of the ships(or the name of the wing incase of fighters) that are junkd.
for missiles and guns:
mosquitos / firestorms / flails / hammers.
IRE / PAC / PRG.

No idea....Catra's idea of a junkyard is worth considering.
I'll most likely just throw up an Argon Trade station and a split EQ dock or two in the ANH sector. Then it becomes my private condo for when I need to "get away from it all". Other than that it's just another sector to plop down a complex in really.

If you really want to bring in the NPC traffic, there's always the tried and true method of a Booze/Weed complex.
However, they're no longer the best sellers (though NPC's will certainly come for them
). Personally I find that 1MJ shields must be the best sellers... no matter where I put that kind of complex there is ALWAYS a steady stream of customers. Same for microchips, people can't seem to get enough of them.
Small weapons (as in your IRE, PAC, ect) also seem to sell quite well. The larger capital ship guns don't though.

Personally I think the "having your own sector" thing is a bunch of crap because it's just like any other sector without previous stations in it.
So I just use it like any other sector
ps: I dumped my phq into the hubsector

X4: Let's do this!
(ASUS Sabertooth X99S; i7 5930@3.5; 24GB RAM; RX 580; playing latest vanilla steam version with Split Vendetta on Win10/64, "the young gun''; mogul/captain)
{playing since X-BTF}

So what were you expecting to find there?Dirk-Jan wrote:Personally I think the "having your own sector" thing is a bunch of crap because it's just like any other sector without previous stations in it.

One of the gates were disabled,so that you don't get a Xenon migration through the middle of your stockpiled invasion fleet.
It has to be one of,if not THE most safest places in the universe.

It brings to mind those junked car sculptures, set upended in the middle of the dessert, or WW2 cemeteries.
You could always go in to the second space ship business "Catra's Castaways, Slightly Used"
Shame there's no reprocessing/scrap plant in the game which you could own. Then dock old ships at and break them down into raw materials.
Anyway nice idea all the same.

I guess you are running scripts or mods ,as you don't get the PHQ until AFTER the Hub completes afaik.X3Gimp wrote:I haven't done that plot, but I already set up my PHQ in Presidents End, so what so I care?
I will probably use the sector to mimic Argon Sector M148 and set up EQ Docks and various other Military appliances.

What was the problem?Shootist wrote:I did the plot w/o reading about it first.
I solved the sudoku, check it online to ensure accuracy, opened up the game interface to input the solution, and,
Quit the game. Just hit shift-q and dived (dove?) for the desktop.
I shall not have a new home. Unknown sector will suffice.
I do not like Soduko, but I used the same method as you and it worked.
You just have to make sure your ship does not drift too close or all hell is let loose.
