Freelance ships

I looking for some freelances ship. I am after some of the bigger ships like the Osiris, the dreadnoughts and the freighters.

Now I got the ships on my computer for freelance in form of .3db and .cmp files but not sure how to convert them over.

So help on both parts whould be nice lol

I think Freelancer ships would probably be suited to be ported to Homeworld or some other space sim, but this would be pretty cool to see as well. Flying a Liberty Corvette from the Shattered Worlds mod would be awesome.

I dont have them all but now I need to work out how to get them from .ms3d and convert them so I can use in X3:TC

Maybe this will help, there are small software "Converter Freelancer CMP/3DB files in BOD" (from author Checkertwo) - converted CMP/3DB files into X2 BOD files, only software readme is in the Russian language - DOWNLOAD LINK
Software description (translated from Russian language with google translator)

Command-line program that requires one or two parameters. The first - the name cmp file, the second - the name of mat-file. The file name of the material can be omitted. Pulls out all lody cmp/3db - file and stores them in a format bod. The coordinate system Freel different from X2, so you'll have hands to deploy the model in 3ds. It dont seem to work. Also cant read the read me file and cant even Translated with google.

I can convert .cmb to MS3D then I can convert from Milkshape to Gmax useing .DXF AutoCad.

I was trying to use DBOX 2 but its dont work for me as I need Compone nts.txt and cant find it. Also cant exporter the ship I got. It comes up with a message No Node(s) selected when I press Export Sel and yet I got body set.


But what I reaaly need now is to convert gmax files to what every so I can use in game.

Move Freelancer ship file (.3db) on flcmp.exe and he created ship bod file (X2 ship bod file), I tested - opened new generated ship model in 3DS max, all works well.
