External commodity logistics. CL2

I have been trying out the CL2 software to supply a couple of my complexes and thought I would post my notes. If any of this is useful to other players I may tidy them up a bit and repost.

Using TC 2.6 with bonus pack.

Started off with a Mercury Hauler, full extensions, 8000 units cargobay, 4 25mj sheilds, 800 ecells, 1 PAC, 200 mosqitos, jumpdrive and required software (nav, fight 1&2, trade 1&2, CL2).

Total cargo bay 1043 units.

I bought and actvated CL2 at trading station in Herrons Nebula and started software. A Cargo Messenger level pilot was added to the ship. You will have to check which level of pilot is added to any ship you activate CL2 on.

First homebased ship at (my) complex in Barron Shores (BS) which will be supplying goods and will be moving Soja Husk and Soja Beans to my complex in Cardinals Domain (CD)

Start external commodity logistics. Jumpdrive settings: use=yes, Ecells= 800, Min jump range 1.

Set waypoints: add station BS complex hub, refuel ecells. add sector BS complex hub, load soja husk, manual input 1739 units.
Add station CD complex hub, unload soja husk, max cargo space (note says 2000 units).
Add station BS hub, load soja beans, manual input 6957 units.
Add station CD hub, unload soja beans, max cargo space (says 8000 units)

The trader now collects and supplys.

To take both wares at the same time.

Set waypoints: add station (BS), refuel, add station (BS), load, soja husk, manual input (866), add station (BS), load soja beans, manual input (3493), add station (CD), unload, soja husk, maximum cargo space, add station (CD), unload, soja beans, max cargo space.

It was at this point, when activated, that the trader set course for Dark Waters and bought 10 fighter drones. This did not distrupt the process but though the trader kept loading 866 soja husk it adjusted the soja beans by 20 units to 3473 units.

I also tried to supply one station with ore from two other complexes. I used the manual input up to command and though the trader collected ore from the first and third complexes (pick up points) it sat in the delivery point and waited for me to unload it through the trade menu of the ship/station.

As soon as I had emptied the cargo bay the ship continued to repeat without reissue of the command. e.g.

set waypoints, add station, load, product, manual input up to. (heads with cargo)
add station, unload, product, manual input up to (waits in station till you unload).
add station, load, product, manual input up to (heads with cargo).

I also tried using the generate waypoints option, selected start hub/secter, ware and set jump range to 20 sectors. I then got three waypoints (number of my hubs in range which stocked ware) all set to fill cargo bay with the ware. Still trying to see if this is at all useful.

If anyone is having problems with these commands or indeed having success please share any details and if this belongs in another forum/thread please know I looked on script & modding ect to find advice on how to use and only found the read me's. So Mod's feel free to move/combine thread if needed.

Just activated a CL2 for the first time and will post back if I have to manually do anything.

The reason I'm posting now is to let you know I have a Vanilla 2.6 game and for the first time saw the exact behavior you are talking about with a sector trader I have.

He takes Cahoonas to a complex of mine that is set to buy them and just sits there. I have to manually transfer them over and the second I do he runs off to either do something else but eventually comes back and I have to repeat the process.

Like I said I'll post back re: the CL2 once he runs a loop or two tonight. I hope that a bug was not introduced with 2.6 because it never happened before this (would have noticed).

I thought it may have been intentional for the paticular setting but really not sure. I simply altered that waypoint to unload max cargo and it just transfers whatever amount of that cargo type (in my case ore) is in the hold.

Though I would have thought that the command 'max cargo bay' may cause confusion as it states the full amount of that ware as calculated able to be held by whichever ship class the pilot is flying ...pause for breath... regardless of how much is actually set to load in previous waypoints.

It is good to have reduncey as the pilot just continues without pause but as well as confusion in the user it may also effect users that are calculating wares in an exact fashion, add to that any drones or mosqi missiles that may be added after starting CLS and more head scratching may end up on the forum. :(

Can't wait to play with the update and CLS / CAG... Missed them from X3:R so much!!

Will let you know if I come across similar issues and possible solutions.

Now, to get some trader order here... :idea:

Update for you .. okay the CL2 guys are working fine. I've setup three of them and the one I watched for several cycles goes from Neptune to the last Unknown Sector in Terran space where a Ghoul Fab spawned stopping at 3 places along the way to refuel his jump energy, buy c-rations and water and keep it producing missles for me to hoard.

The 2nd CL2 guy provides energy and MAM/Warheads to same FAB.

Lastly I have a third guy setup delivering Crystals to a few sectors with factories or complexes I had to add solar power plants to since the NPC factories all vanished into thin air with no explanation even though I was shopping from them all the time (I swear, GOD is out to get me).

Anyway they are working great so far (no recurrance of the 'manually offload wares for a CL2 or ST/UT' .. yet) but I haven't put enough hours in.
