After running a search i couldnt come up with anything pertaining to my particular joystick or problem so ill give it a shot.
For what ever reason i cant get the throttle to work at all in game. When calibrating through the control panel everything appears to work as it should yet when i try to map the controls i cant get the throttle to work as it should. Ive mapped the buttons on the throttle and those work fine. I also use the rocker button on the throttle to roll the ship, but no matter what i do i cant get the throttle to work for accelerating the ship.
Im not sure if im missing something in my configuration attempts or if X3:TC just plain doesnt support this particular joystick/throttle combo.
Anyones thoughts would be appreciated.

Some throttles, my saitek included need use throttle to be deselected in options,
.pjknibbs wrote:From what I recall people with Saitek joysticks have said the throttle works better if you UNTICK the "use joystick throttle control" on the game's launcher dialog...and yes, I realise that makes no sense, I'm just reporting what other Saitek users have said!

Ill be damned it worked! I gotta admit it would have taken me ages to get the idea of disabling the throttle in the input options menu in the hope of enabling it, hahaha.
Thank you khub for the advice!

the throttle on my x45 quit working correctly earlier this week. i found this forum post that fixed it
Hi,
Unplug the controller, click Start>Run, type regedit and click OK. In the Registry Editor browse to the following folders in order:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (HKEY_CURRENT_USER if using Vista)
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
MediaProperties
PrivateProperties
DirectInput
And delete any folder starting with VID_06A3. Plug the controller back in, move it fully a couple of times and see if that has fixed it.

The OP had his particular problem fixed way back in August 2009. I don't see the point in dredging up such an old thread to post a solution to a totally unrelated problem.

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.
