First of all i would like to stress that i am no modder! I’m simply a guy who knows the basics of Doubleshadow’s X3 editor and wants the game to have cockpits.
I would like to leave here my congrats to Arkblade for bringing back cockpits to X3TC, without his mod I would not be able to fiddle with the pits and insert new ones.
The second set of congrats goes to Imp.- for creating some awesome new pits for X3R. I used them then and I sure want to use them now!
Now, I said that I’m no modder. All I’m doing is transferring information from one side to the other, combining Arkblade’s and Imp.-‘s mod to create one that, hopefully, will bring cockpits for every ship in the game, including some “custom” pits that will be available is some unique ships. Remember that this is still a work in progress, and I may not be able to do everything that I wished I could and I ask the modding community to help me if they can in the parts where I’m stuck.
Current standings:
-Inserted Imp.-‘s custom cockpits in Arkblade’s mod, thus replacing the pits in all Argon ships, as you can see in the links below:
M1 - Argon Colossus Pit
M2 - Argon Titan Pit

M6 - Argon Heavy Centaur Prototype (it's the same for the standard Centaur..for now)

I'm currently applying Imp's cockpits to all ATF and Terran ships and some selected Commonwealth ships (OTAS, Prototypes, etc). My idea is to have the Commonwealth ships with the standard pits and the ATF and Terran ones with Imp's cockpits (the opposite of these screenshots)
I don't know if i can post my altered files for others to use, because all the material belongs to other modders. If anyone knows if i'm not going to violate any modder-rules, please tell me and i will post my mod.
The game has a LOT of ships, so it's going to be a while before i see all of them. If i could upload the file others might use it and when they saw a ship without cockpit they could warn me here, so i can change it. Again, i don't know if i can upload it, so i'm waiting for some "legal advice".
EDIT: After some testing, i learned that there seems to be some incompatibility between the Animations.pck file (present in Imp's mod) and X3TC. This is the file that creates some of the animations for the cockpit. Watch the difference below between a pit with animations, and without them:

The console's buttons, bars and blips dissapear. Now, with animations enabled, everytime i fired a shot from an ATF or Terran ship (only these ones), the game would CTD before the laser beams hit the other ship. Nothing happened if i fired the against no target, only when the beams colided with another ship.
I don't know how to overcome this obstacle. Any ideas are welcome.
