Description:
The universe is a dangerous place, my friends. Pirates raid our shipping lanes... Kha'ak and Xenon decimate entire worlds... exploding BoFu canisters terrorize our families... Truly, these are dark times.
Of course, there is nothing anyone can do about the terror that is BoFu - it is now simply a fact of life. But we here at Tatakau Industries might be able to help with some of the other mortal perils that threaten your enterprise.
Weapons Quickswap maximizes the potential of your ship's main weapons array by allowing you to save and switch between three different weapons profiles. You know what this means, of course? No more frantically pounding away at your ship's interface while you try to switch weapons - you can go from blasting away with 8 PRGs to barbecuing with 8 PBGs in the blink of an eye!
(Notice, some people blink slower than others.)
Latest Update:
Weapons Quickswap v1.03 extends weapons profiles to include turrets.
Usage:
Weapons Quickswap adds six bindable hotkeys to your ship's interface: Select Weapons Group 1, 2, and 3, and Assign Weapons Group 1, 2, and 3. To configure these hotkeys, navigate to Options > Controls > Interface, and locate the WQS commands near the bottom (in blue).
Disclaimer:
Tatakau Industries is not liable for any damages caused by using this product. Actual downtime of main weapons array during a profile switch is approximately one second. Use of this product signifies that the pilot understands that the main weapons array will be inoperable during this time frame.
Grandiose Plans:
As support for turret weapons has now been added, I would like to also add support to the Turret Orders. Also, I would like to expand support to allow three weapons profiles per ship instead of overall.
Technical:
Weapons Quickswap uses Text File and Text Page 8500.
Uninstall:
Open the script editor and run the script "plugin.tatakau.wqs.hotkey.off" to unregister the hotkeys.
Version History:
1.03 - 2009.03.03 - Added turret support.
1.02 - 2008.11.01 - Script optimization.
1.01 - 2008.10.25 - Changed text page and file to 8500.
1.00 - 2008.10.25 - Initial release.

Hi!
Any idea why I can't get it to work on my Osaka? It works great on my M3 Scimitar, but when I try it on my Osaka I get no confirmation sound or weapons change when I select the Weapons group. I only get a confirmation sound when I assign.

The Clue is in the text
It doesn't work on turrets.

Thats a fantastic script.
It would be even better if you could store your weapon layout for different ships (I often switch between a Chimera and the Vidar).
There was a script in X3R that did that - it might give you some inspiration to peek into it.
The Author was "Bunny" and the Name was just "Weapons Changer".

Thanks a bunch for the great script! Pain in the butt switching weapons based on whether the enemy is a Kha'ak scout or similar fast ship, or an M6 boat. Cheers!

Hmmm... I suppose I could add support for turrets pretty easily. Adding support for multiple ships would be a little more difficult, but definitely doable.
I'll look into it tonight after work.

Awesome script! Would this by any chance work for X3 reunion?
If not, would it be easy to convert? Or is there a script that does that already?
EDIT: I checked out Bunny's weapon swap script and it does not seem to store main weapon setups. That's what I'm looking for.

Ok, I'm afraid to say i am having a problem with this, i can't find the hotkeys to to enable me to set and access groups, any ideas?
