Uhm... @mail them and ask for it?
Egosoft can't say if it's mailed for you or not... if you didn't buy it from their shoppe

For me its the convenience of Steam rather than any other factor. I rather like the auto install/update thing.

Well, I ordered from Play.com a long while ago.

They've always been grand in the past and 17.99 was rather a good deal for the hardcopy.

I'm starting to worry that taking Friday off may have tempted fate though..........

Does anyone know whether the retail version will be able to be added to Steam, like you can with some other games. I'm not sure why you would want to, since you could get it direct from Steam anyway but I'm just curious.

I've had this Friday booked off for months so it's just a fluke this it fits in nicely. I plan to be locked away, wearing blinkers and sitting on a commode for the weekend.

I've got X3TC preordered through Play as well. In fact i had X3 preordered through them as well. If memory serves they didn't actually send it out until the Wednesday or Thursday of the week it was released. Despite this however it still arrived on the Friday, so no need to panic.

On the other hand if they've still not sent it out this time on Thursday evening, then it's probably not going to arrive in time :)

As the mobo on my gaming rig fried last week (it actually fizzled&popped!) I haven't gotten around to replacing the parts yet, not to mention test to see what other parts became collateral damage. So if TC doesn't arrive by Friday I just hope some nice videos will be released.

I might just re-read Farnham's Legend while I'm waiting for new parts. Oh well...

Yeah mine too has changed to "order placed" though it does say "payment is not yet being processed" at the bottom of the view order page. So my guess is they will send them out tomorrow, and most ppl will get them Friday, though if they are sent Wednesday I have a chance of getting it Thursday - play.com orders can be delivered very quickly here.

I can barely contain my excitement.

---edit---
Status is now "In stock", so I imagine they will be sending them out starting today.

---edit2---
As of 14:10 14/10/2008
I'm at the "packing" stage... Roll on Thursday! :D

i hate steam for one reason if your computer has been offline for a month then for some reason it'll refuse you to open steam in offline mode. honestly one time i was waiting for my computer to get fixed and that happened on my laptop only 1 week after being offline.

thanks but i'd rather have a nice shiney disc and not need a middle program to decide weather i can play it or not. besides you need to wait for steam to load then X3:TC/X3:R can load up.... waste of playing time.

Woohoo! Mine's changed to 'Packing'.
Looks like it will be in the mail by this afternoon.

Not to jinx anything, but it looks like I may even have it tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.

Fingers crossed...
