Scripts to use with XTM???

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had any "must have" scripts or additions to run in X3 with XTM installed?

Theres quite a few scripts that are buried within the forums and i don't know if there is a compiled database of scripts for X3, so any personal opinions would be great!

First, have you installed the official Bonus Pack?

If you are just starting in the X-series, XTM and the Bonus Pack are plenty for now. There's enough to wrap your mind around without adding complications. It is useful to have a grasp on the base game before considering changes.

However I would recommend the Escort missions script to anyone. It won't interfere with any core gameplay, will help you explore, and can be pretty entertaining.

If you feel comfortable with X-games I would recommend looking through Cycrow and LV's scripts. Race Response Fleets is an excellent script, and I would also look at Bounty Boost, Salvage Claim Software and Mercenaries Guild.

If you use RRF with XTM, I would recommend keeping Pirate response ships off.

There are also the Anarkis scripts, of which I would particularly recommend Anarkis Carrier Commands. These make using a carrier much easier.

If you want a more dangerous universe, look into Pirate Guild (Anarkis) and Xenon Migration (Cycrow).

One esoteric but useful script is the Ring of Fire, which makes lasertowers actually useful. Make sure to go through the readme.

Finally, if you are an advanced user, I would grab OCS Apollo which makes the AI slightly better at combat.

P.S. Do not install the E.M.P., XTM has it already.

Thanks guys i think i'll take it slow like Sandal suggested, i've forgotten alot about X3 since the last time i played it.

One thing i remember i never knew how to do was the hotkey settings for Scripts, is there a way to make sure i don't need to reset them everytime i start X3?

We are in the process of creating bonus script packs for xtm, but we haven't released anything yet. But heres a script pack which has had no compatibility issues with xtm : http://www.thexuniverse.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6932, - i recommend it as the scripts are good.
