So which ships you add the Pandora extensions to?

I'm planning how to use the Pandora in a new game, I need more ideas.

For my current game,

1 engine tuning and 3 rudders for Hyperion - speed around 180 and turning around 19%;

3 engine tuning for Falcon Sentinel - speed around 170;

and 1 rudder ain't decided yet.
I live in my Vidar.

Laser hit efficiency: 97% @190,499 shots
Missile hit efficiency: 97% @4,204 missiles fired

I went for:

LX - 1 rudder & 1 engine
Hyperion - 3 rudder & 2 engine

the other engine tuning's inside the planet in Split Fire :(

Is there a way of finding these extensions or do I just have to wait until the bbs message randomly pops up at a station?

CBSW has a planet too. :neutral:

There is a script that will tell you where they are, but from what I can gather the boxes aren't actually there until the BBS messages start for that specific crate. In other words, you have to wait for the messages.

Think before you install these, for many reasons.

I installed 1 engine tuning on the M7, which took it from approx 138 to 187 top speed, and totally ruined the game; the ship becomes unkillable.

How are you guys splitting these up or are you referring only to each crate?

I've found 1 crate of engine tunings and 1 crate of rudder optimizations, but each one has about 10 or so inside.

That's exactly what I've been thinking. And then spraying it Gold so it sticks out from the rest of the fleet :mrgreen:

We refer to each crate.

There are 8 crates (4 engine and 4 rudder) in every game.
I live in my Vidar.

I have all the crates I've found so far - two speed and two rudder - on my M7, because I am an impatient man in a hurry... next speed crate I get, I'm putting on my personal LX so that it can keep up; I'd still like more rudder on the M7 so I can actually steer the beast at top speed, though.

I found one of the crates by accident when searching "Unknown Sector"s for the pandora story I just read - there were two in the first sector, found one in the M7 and one in the Starburst (which makes searching for these so much less painful)

What is this pandora thing? I keep seeing it but I have no idea what the hell its all about.

Is it a xtra script or is in in the game already waiting to come live after a period of time?

Is it related to the Bala gi or add on pack?

If I ever find any, they will be going into my Ody then I plan to have some serious fun in the Xenon sectors at the K's expense.

It's in the Bala Gi patch. There are now two types of new "free stuff" for you to find. But they're placed randomly now, so you have to either buy clues from the BBS or fly around in a fast ship searching for them.

The "Pandora extensions" are boxes of 10x engine or rudder tuning. The clues come from BBS stories about the Argon explorer ship Pandora. You don't have to pay for the info, but all you get is the sector, you have to find the box yourself.

The Treasure Hunt messages age from "an ancient cartographer" who will sell you the position of ... something random. Could be a ship, could be a box of credits. Sometimes you get lucky and find a M6 or even a cap ship, or maybe several million credits. Sometimes you get the shaft and find a M5 or far less credits than you paid for the info.

Just get the sector name and search it. I think that they are either 100+ K's up or north. Gota search an awful lot to find the things.
