[SCRIPT] Set Yaki as Friend or Foe v1.00

Post by Bunny » Tue, 23. Jan 07, 14:38

Set Yaki as Friend or Foe

The allows the player to set owned ships to view Yaki as friend, neutral or foe.

How to use it
The script will request a mode number when it is run. The modes are:

-1 = Set object to view Yaki as foe
0 = Set object to be neutral to Yaki
1 = Set object to view Yaki as friend
2 = View object's current Yaki friend/foe setting in player log (no change is made when this mode is used)

Very nice.

One odd thing tho. I just restarted (again) on the BA start, and the Yaki are shown as enemy to me. Not sure what that means, but it is an observation. :)

I'll give this script a shot when I get home.

A great idea Bunny, I have seen many ppl complain about the inability to set Friend/Foe for the Yaki. Sure to be a popular download.

Though in my game the Yaki are more scarce than the Kha'ak. So I don't really think I need this script just yet.

Eh, no. I didn't touch the Yaki entries. Nor did I increase the spawn rate of *any* job group. I only added more variety of ships to a few. By the way, it's pretty sweet seeing my extended freighters flying around all over. I even captured one for my own use. :)

I still haven't gotten around to tweaking their stats tho...

Yaki

Post by Alzara » Fri, 8. Jun 07, 05:44

Just wondering, does this mod allow you to change your "global" status towards the yaki? I'm wondering because I'm trying to figure out how to take over yaki sectors using the Sector Takeover Mod. To do this I need to be able to set my global status towards the Yaki as "foe".

Thanks

Al

IIRC there always needs to be an object specified so the command is always acting locally at the moment. I'll see if there is a way around this.

Cheers

Nope, it looks like the global setting can only be changed by game code.

This script could be changed to loop though all the player owned ships. The only problem with this is it would have to be repeated when the player buys or claims a ship.

well, how does one modify the script so it works globally or at least transmits to all properties? That would at least be helpful.
