Saitek X-55 Rhino Button 15 always lit - Fixed by inputmap.xml edit
At the moment it's not (or hardly) possible to reconfigure the buttons when using an X55 HOTAS, because the Stick Unit has buttons that are always on depending on the mode switch of the throttle unit (buttons 15-17 for M1-3). Whenever you try to reconfigure a button, it's immediatly set to i.E. button 15. Would it be possible to ignore those button events for buttons 15 to 17 when this kind of controller is connected?

Not sure if this has been solved in other threads and I hope this isn't considered to be a "necro post" but I encountered the same problem when I recently reinstalled my X55 after a drive reformat.
The "stuck button 15" problem seems to only occur if you connect your x55 to your computer before the saitek driver installer can load the proper driver. The driver installer will prompt you when it is time to connect your controllers in the form of Black arrows pointing towards an image of a computer case.
I did not have the Saitek profiler software installed but I don't think it will matter, it wont hurt to try uninstalling it though.
There is no automatic uninstaller which means in order to fix you need to manually uninstall the driver that windows tried to load.

- 1.) First you will need to connect your X55 stick and throttle to your computer, it does not matter which usb port.
2.) Go to start > control panel > device manager.
3.) Find the X55 Stick and Throttle under the section "Human Interface Devices".
4.) Right click on either the stick or the throttle and select uninstall, an additional dialog box will pop up, Check "Delete the driver software for this device". that part is really important.
5.) Repeat for the remaining X55 device(s).
- My computer showed multiple instances of the Joystick and Throttle.
- Once all remaining instances of the X55 are removed you may close device manager.
5a.) To be overly thorough if you've already tried these steps and still have trouble, change the view to "Show Devices by Connection" and expand the X55 Stick and Throttle branches and uninstall the driver for the other devices that are attached to the X55 Stick and Throttle.
6.) You need to unplug the Joystick and Throttle before attempting to reinstall the driver.
6a.) Optional reboot unless you still have trouble. make sure your X55 is NOT connected during the reboot.
- I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and did not have to reboot.
7.) Download the latest driver from the Saitek website.
http://saitek.com/uk/down/drivers.php
8.) Run the driver installer, Do NOT connect your X55 until the installer prevents you from continuing the installation. When it is time to connect the X55, the installer will show black arrows pointing towards the picture of a computer. Once the X55 stick and throttle are detected the installer will allow you to click the button to continue with the installation.
9.) Once the installer finishes, open up the control panel to Devices and Printers, right click on on the X55 Stick and click "Game controller Settings", double click on the X55 stick to open up the Test window to confirm that button 15 is no longer stuck on.
