I don't know if this is the forum for it (moderator move if not), but I thought it might be fun to have a thread of images people have taken which can be used as computer background wallpaper. Here are a few I took that I think look nice:

The UI icons are somehow destroying it nosscar...
I recommend using the External view mod, it has some functions which turn off the UI.
Never tried it myself however.

I didn't try this modd either... but I really would like EGO to make the UI disabling hotkey TRULLY disable UI! For now it only remove the cockpit patern...

Would love to make lots of screen as I did in X3 and use them as loading backgrounds... Implemented external view should be great too!

We've been having a similar thread in the Italian forum for a couple of weeks by now...there are lots of really nice views of the game...if you don't mind not understanding what is written, aside from the links

I have been in contemplation of wonderful scenes myself, but I can't find a good way to take a screenshot that :
- does not have any UI/icon
- is in the resolution i'm using (1680*1050)

F12 key steam screenshot is not good at all.

Op, maybe you could edit your first post with links of player's steam libraries (like Aken_Bosch one's).

@Saquavin - for my needs, I find the F12 key of steam decent enough...the screenshots are saved in their original resolution (1920*1080 in my case), and I find them easy to manage through the steam interface...

About removing the hud, actually I'm using a trick found by user ADAM79...not an elegant solution, but a working one nonetheless

...while having the cockpit disabled in the conventional way, if you turn to the info monitor (like for viewing the map) and then turn back facing forward, there's a slight moment before the hud icons come up again...not more than a second...that's the time where to press the capture key

That way, you obtain this:

I'll have to try that no-HUD trick. Ren doesn't turn away to look at the monitor anymore (toward co-pilot), the menus just comes up for me in the forward-facing cockpit view. I'll play around and try to figure it out.

Yes, it's straight from an in-game screenshot. No Photoshop or anything else *. I'm running default settings.

* Screenshot using my External Camera mod, but it doesn't alter graphics. The front view will be in next update.
