But he remains on my ship.
Had the same happen to me. I undocked from the ship and re-docked, and when i did I was able to assign a new captain. Then I had to undock again before I could give him new orders.

Did the mission twice without any bugs or problems.

How:
Get a captain, marine officer and as many marines (over 8 ) as you want.
Go to the battle zone, stay with the heart of albion ships!
What I did is park the skunk in one of the cap ship's gravity range. Then controlled my attack drone while leaving the skunk stuck to the cap.

Once the enemy is destroyed, Go to taranis (the ship).
Hit the jumpdrive and engines.
Select the ship and board it.
Destroy the parts yisha tells you to destroy.

Once the ship is under your control, the captain you had in the skunk should go to taranis by himself. You'll have to get the marine officer back though (can do this later).

dock with one of heart of albion's ships.
talk to the engineer (he'll be on the cap ship you docked on) to commence jump.
Wait for the timer to end, then undock.
You'll be in safety with all other ships and your taranis.
I'm naturally unfriendly sometimes. Don't take what I say too badly.

I've had a look for that line and cannot find it. I believe that everyones save file varies. Could you explain where abouts that line is?

Sack you rubbish Marine Commander. The next one I hired had 'Boarding 1' and did the job to completion. Not a bug, just poor training on the mission design front.

CONFIRMIED... I even turned around boosted out of the sector and went look for a new marine commander flew around for like 30 mins 3 sectors found one fired my old one bought a new one flew back and the mission was like it was on pause while I was away lol

finally now sitting in deveris with 27million (from selling taranis), a construction ship and my trade ship. 8-) so thanks to who ever suggested this. :wink:

I enjoyed the 5 minutes I had my construction ship before it was killed OOS because it couldn't jump to me, and I couldn't get to it because I had to make a B line to the Ship Vendor before useless Taranis was also destroyed. :( Made it with seconds to spare.

Seems as good a point as any to abandon the campaign altogether and just go do my own thing.

I launched the game, loaded the edited save, and the only change was it was not telling me "fly to Arawn" anymore. Actually I did not have any mission at all. Talking to the Arawn still launched the "Prepare to jump out!" sentence. Nothing else.

If you have any other idea, please let us know :)

After the mission is completed and we have jumped out. Taranis gets blown up by some plutarch attackers (Capitol ship). No matter what i try to do i cant save the ship. Ive done and reloaded this mission 3 times whit same result every time.
I have no problems whit the mission it self but its after, that i cant keep Taranis. Maybe i shud just do the mission and totaly ignore Taranis and dont spend any crew on it as it will be blown away anyway.
Wierd thing is, This is the third ship ive got during the plot and 2 of them have been blown away for me whit out i can do anything about it.

And even if it was a way to command the ship it would be attacked by the plutarch in every zone u enter.

Do we actually need to blow the engines and the jumpdrive from Taranis?
How is it possible for the ship to Jump when quest is done if we have blown jumpdrives away?

@peza - I got the cue id by tracing from the mission id. If you do a search for Prison Break is should show the id of the mission, I then searched that Id. which then linked to the cue id number that I used.

Tomorrow I will start a new game and get to that point and do the same thing to see if it is the same process.

@Norhil - it Could be possible that the time is out of whack with your actual time. Try changing it to the time located here (right near the start of the file)

I checked my "time" in the save, it is "31505.966".

I the edited my save as follows:

But nothing changes. I even tried to remove the cues 11091-11096, but this still changes nothing, even if there is a gap between cue id="11090" and the next line after the </cue> wich is a library id="11097".

I also sent an email to Egosoft support to inform them as this seems to be a recurrin issue for anyone who did not board a ship in time for the jump. Will let you know if I hear anything new.

There was an issue with that part of the mission if you miss the ships jumping out. It will be fixed in an upcoming patch.

I am a bit confused. After you succesfully do the boarding mission and jump with the other HoA ships, are you getting the Rahanas ship back or not?

I am currently have in my property menu only the Taranis, the construction ship and the Bulk ship (sorry forgot the name)

Hiring Pilot not recognised by Plot

Hello folks,

so i seem to be stuck on this quest at the part where i am supposed to acquire a pilot after hiring the mercs. The thing is, that i already had a backup pilot with me, which wasn't recognized by the game either and now after hiring another one the quest still just states that i shall acquire a pilot.

So any suggestions? Tryed restarting and loading the game and such...
Might anyone have a save game xml at exactly this point in the quest (well after acquiring the pilot and getting that recognized) and could post the part of the quest as treehugger58092 did bevore so i can adapt that?

Some people have be it back, others no, presumably it is destroyed once Plutarch system goes hostile with the player.

The Officer is important. I regarded the skills of mine, nothing. So I hired another guy, with 1 boarding and 4 leadership stars. Did the job.
How do you guys find out the NPC skills? None of NPC showing skills to me and no matter what i do the skill bar still show me (????)

Any save after this point breaks for me. Save just before = loads fine.

Any same that happens after battle = crash dump.

This mission is driving me bonkers! :evil:

I spent half a million on marines and officers and whatnot,
the stupid ship looks like a flaming Klondike bar full of barnacles,
but it wont let me board.

I also would rather not grab a random save file,
since I already managed to bully 2 PMC bastards out of their ship.

So whats the plan here, Egosoft?
Am I gonna have to sit on it until 2014?
