1 - 13 FPS on Mid-High End Gaming System

Post by Agentmass »

I'm highly disappointed that I'm not able to play this game with my PC. I can run Planetside 2 on medium to high settings, and I can play all modern games except for this game. I have a friend that has almost the same GPU as me, and he does not lag "as much". I have tried the lowest graphics settings, but I shouldn't even have to do this. How do I fix this? When will this be fixed?

Here is the top of my DXDiag:

What is your GPU?

Although I pre-ordered I was not at home on the release day so had to wait until this morning to try it out.

I currently have an average FPS of ~26 which sometimes drops to as low as 13 but normally no lower than around 18-19, in some systems FRAPS reports FPS as high as 50+, but the game is quite playable on my system and I have been doing so the best part of today :)

My System Spec:

Code: Select all

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Motherboard Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3

AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor ~3.6GHz

4096MB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1 GB GDDR5

Nvidia Driver : 331.65

Current Resolution 1280 x 720

What I did:

steamapps/common/X Rebirth/_CommonRedist

Ran DXsetup to make sure all components required had indeed been installed.

Edited Nvidia Control Panel 3D settings for XR:

Code: Select all

Ambient Occlusion: Off

Anisotropic filtering: 2x

Antialiasing - FXAA: On

Antialiasing - Gamma correction: Off

Antialiasing - Mode: Off

Antialiasing - Setting: None

Antialiasing - Transparency: Off

CUDA - GPUs: All

Maximum pre-rendered frames: 3

Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration: Multiple display performance mode

Power management mode: Prefer Maximum Performance

Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimisation: Off

Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias: Clamp

Texture filtering - Quality: Quality

Texture filtering - Trilinear optimisation: On

Threaded optimisation: On

Triple buffering: On

Vertical sync: off

Current settings in game:

Code: Select all

fullscreen : true

Resolution : 1280 x 720

antialiasing : 0

shader quality : High

vsync : false

gamma : 100

shadows : off

ssao : off

lod : 30

view distance : 30

effect distance : 30

Sensitivity for Gamepad set to pitch/yaw = 25

Everything else is default.

No problems, have you tried what I did as your GPU is pretty much the same as mine? Although the tweaks I made did make a difference I have read a few posts that suggest it may well be a CPU problem, but as I can play it ok I will simply wait for the guys at EgoSoft to figure it out, as they normally do.

Hey Astyrrean, yes I read your post this morning, and the FPS increase in DeVries is extremely noticeable, interesting what you found.
