Hello, I just tired to play this game today. I use to play it a while ago, installed from the box. Now I use Steam and I have an issue with the Seta. I press J and I get a noise, but not notification that the Seta is turned on or any change in speed.
I have tried to map the Seta to my joystick and the same result occurs. Any suggestions?

Is your joystick an X52 by any chance? If so then you may have run into this problem. Another possibility is that your joystick's throttle control is forcing SETA back off again the moment it goes on. Either way, unplugging your joystick temporarily should enable you to confirm that it is the source.

details
Ok here are some details, I am talking about X3 reunion that I have from Steam.
None of the icons that I have from steam, have the target box that non-steam games have. So yes, I now know what you mean by target box, or at the least where to find it.
However I do not know how to apply your solution of adding -ignorejoy 9 -ignorejoy 10 -ignorejoy 11 -ignorejoy 12 -ignorejoy 13 -ignorejoy 14
To the target box if there isn't one with the stream versions of these games.

OK, I see where you are going wrong. For non-Steam games you normally start them from a shortcut, not from the actual EXE file. For Steam games that shortcut isn't in the folder for the game, it's in the Steam client itself. So instead of finding the folder in Windows Explorer, just start the Steam client and right click on the game in there. Choose Properties and click on the Set Launch Options button on the General tab. The box that comes up is the equivalent of the "target" box, and is where you can add your command line options.

From the steam forums
The solution for the saitek x45 -ignorejoy n on the steam related games have been discovered.
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... st29533295
Much like you said, you must enter the steam folder, this link gives you a direct answer as to where to find the .exe games, how to make a short cut with the .exe x3 file and then to place the -ignorejoy n numbers.
Just for those not wanting to click the link.
(Depending upon your windows system.)
Program files (x86 in my case) - steam - steammaps - common - x3 reunion
here you will find the steam .exe x3 file, right click, create shortcut and then move the shortcut to the desktop. At which point in time, you may then proceed with the repeat keyboard fix of
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\X3 - Reunion\X3.EXE" -ignorejoy 9 -ignorejoy 10 -ignorejoy 11 -ignorejoy 12 -ignorejoy 13 -ignorejoy 14
Hope this helps everyone who has been running into my problem for the last few days.

Again, that's not the "normal" way to do it with Steam. If you do it the way I described using the Steam client then you don't need to create a shortcut. Just put the
part into the box that you get to by following the instructions in my last post.
Code: Select all
-ignorejoy 9 -ignorejoy 10 -ignorejoy 11 -ignorejoy 12 -ignorejoy 13 -ignorejoy 14
