I have had a few strange things happen to me in my last session of Albion Prelude and wanted to see if anyone had a suggestion on what is going on.
Since I downloaded the AP patch, I have received no updates from the warzone area between Argon and Terran space. I went into Treasure chest, and then Omnicron Lyrae, Circle of Labor, Heretics End and finally Asteroid Belt. In all these sectors, Argon response fleets and all Terran ships were floating in space at 0 ms/s. They will not shoot or...do anything. If I shoot them, they sit there and take it for about 2 or 3 seconds. If it takes longer than that for me to blow them up, they will then jump to life and start moving/firing back. It was like this until I hit Asteroid Belt. In Asteroid Belt, there were Argon and Terran ships frozen again, but there were also Terran military and trade ships moving as normal. However, the military ships would not attack me (Argon peace keeper start with very low Terran reputation) unless I shot more Terran ships in front of their face.
Another weird thing that is happening to me is that no one is bailing from their ships. I am now at Master Chief fight rank, and have blown up Xenon, Terran, ATF, Pirate and a couple Teladi and Split ships. Not one ship has ever bailed so far in my AP experience. I have done all fighting in the Nova Prototype and Centaur that the plot gives you. Lately I have been stalking Xenon L's for the plot, and have repeatedly loaded to try and make them bail to no effect. It made me realize that NO ship in the game has bailed for me yet.
The last strange occurrence is that my game crashed for the first time ever, playing either TC or AP. It crashed after I had saved my game in Black Hole Sun and then would crash every time I loaded that game. I eventually had to use an auto-save from much earlier and save over my game to get going again.
My Questions - Can this all be a problem with the latest patch? Have any of you experienced weirdness like this? Any suggestions on slapping AP's face and getting it to behave? Where do babies come from?

This can happen with an under-powered rig if you have been building mega-plexes.The last strange occurrence is that my game crashed for the first time ever, playing either TC or AP. Check the size of the save that causes the problem.
If it is many times bigger than the one that is ok,then that might be your problem.
The save takes into account nearly everything happening in a game.
Try reducing the amount of background programmes that are running,or even streamline your OS for gaming.
Although I realise you may have a more powerful rig then mine.
If so ,I do not know the answer.
I have had weird graphics effects too with AP only.

Ty to TTD and Sinxar. I am going to check the steam cashe. I can't check the size of the save file now, since I saved over it, but if this happens again I will take a look at TTD's suggestion. I don't think this rig is that slow, but it's not super fast either. Its 3 years old now so it could be something hardware related. This was the biggest problem concerning me so I appreciate those replies.
I solved the bailing problem myself with http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php? ... light=bail. It's working really well.

RRF ships do have a habit of sitting around appearing to do nothing until they are required to do so
they only move around infrequently after new emissions regulations were imposed and rarely unless they have an enemy to bother with

I've started a few Dead-is-Dead games, and I have a lot of "frozen" Boron escorts sitting near stations--some are docked. Around 10-20 escorts in each sector in my current game.
It is as if whatever they were escorting is gone, and now they just sit there doing nothing.
I've not encountered this issue in Terran Conflict, so I assume this is a new "feature" in Albion Prelude. I can hope for a patch to reboot these frozen ships' scripts--or perhaps a Split or Pirate invasion to clean out some of them.
