Queston on traders

OK, so I set up a Flower Farm and a Nostrop Refinery in a sector that always seems to be out of oil.

My refinery is really starting to produce now and I was wondering if I need a CAG or CLS to sell, or if I should just deploy a sector trader.

I've not had much luck with CLS/CAGs so I wondered if a your own sector traders would move goods from your factories and sell them.

Using a Complex Construction Kit, combine the factories into a Teladi Food Loop. Then all you need are a few TS equipped as CAGs. You don't even need to pretrain them. The Apprentices will buy energy for it, and after a couple of trade runs, will level up to Courier and begin to sell the nostrop oil coming out the other end.

These are the CAG settings I use. They're good for just about any complex or standalone factory you can think of.

Command Console -> Trade -> Start commercial agent:

• Exceptions:
  • Sectors -> Add Sector -> click all known Xenon sectors
  • Sector list type: Blacklist
• Jump Drive settings:
  • Use Jump Drive: Yes
  • Jump Drive energy: 30 jumps' worth (150 energy cells for fighters, 300 for anything else)
  • Minimum jump range: 0 jumps (will jump to a gate in the same sector if it shortens the trip)
• Configure reports:
  • Promotions: Yes
  • Enemy sightings: Yes
  • Acoustic signals at messages: Yes
• Data storage:
  • Save data. Pick a slot, then save it under a name like "Generic CAG".

Then get back out to the CAG top menu and hit Start Commercial Agent.

For future CAGs, hit Data storage -> Load data -> Generic CAG, then just start.

A sector trader may do what you want, but he's not the best solution. Simple "Sell for best price" isn't too bad, but a CAG would be the best
